Does anyone else highly dislike the mechanics of rapid strikes?

Considering its the only dual wield true single target dps ability, its very annoying to use and it hurts my hand, it is way to spammy does anyone agree? Id rather it do burst dps or a longer channel. Zos if your listening, please look into changing this somewhat.

Only if your holding axes or maces. It doesnt look right stabbing away with the ends of them. Luckily daggers are better.

Not really. 1) I think it takes enough time that you're really not constantly pressing the button, and 2) you should really be weaving attacks + mixing in other abilities to maximize dps or whatever your goal is. Unless you're just trashing low level PvE enemies, there's really no reason to be spamming it. I believe its common knowledge that DoTs are your friend when it comes to dps anyway.

it is similar to biting jabs of the templar except the templar skill does alot more damage, IMO.

nup- i love it. compared to biting jabs its a triumph in animation. jabs looks corny as hell- in fact all the templar skills look kind of lame, but the dual wield skills are well animated imo.

It does not take long at all to weave an attack between rapid strikes lol but way to go to miss the point entirely.

I think biting jabs is longer, but it probably helps you do not need to be as close but on a stam sorc having to constantly rebuff and use it can be annoying.

I just dislike that people resort to spamming one ability all the time instead of learning the basics.

Im not 100% sure of this, but as i read the description of Rapid strikes, it looks like it does not add damage to next use of ability. The way i understand the description, is that each strike in one use of the ability, increases the next strikes damage. The damage increase happens inside one use of the ability and does npot move to next use of rapid strikes, it starts from beginning.

Weaving is not efficient as well, at least not in the normal PVE questing. Best combo i have found for NB DW is as follows.

    From stealth->Surprise attack->Bloodgraze->Heavy attack_>Killers blade

This kills almost any mob in the world without fuzz.

If more than one enemy, you do this after first kill. Just add Rapid strikes x1 after heavy attack and use shadowy disguise when switching target to get the stun. Rapid strikes is a good filler but certainly it is unefficiewnt and most boring to just spam it.

When i observe people spamming rapid strikes and trying to kill enemies that way, it takes considerably more time to actually get the kill so i suspect the spamming isa not really the way to go ;)

Regardless of class or weapon choice, i see this trend of people spamming one ability or another, or just spam light attacks on ranged weapons. Something in the games tutorials should be improved to point out that spamming is propably not the best way to play and at least, not the most enjoyable..

PS: Stabbing light shaft(Biting jabs) needs to be redesigned, templars onkly seem to use this ability since launch :P

Yes and this is why I am convinced its pretty medicore or worse on my stamsorc, this is why I am now using 2 handed for single target. But since I do not have allot of champion points yet, maybe this is why, but as others said skills like biting jabs does way more dps.

great powerful PvE DPS skill. Really it's perfect. As it's channel it gets buffs from mighty and taumaturg both and has perfect timing for heavy weave.

I have some 200+ points, how much you have?

Anyways, most of my CP is placed on survivability buffs, theres a melee expert and bow expert but thats pretty much only one where i have points for some damage increase.

I am using 2 handed axe on my stamina/magicka hybrid sorc too, but thats more of a "Character flavour" choice than anything else.

Works pretty well, other bar has destro staff for lightning and pets, i mainly use it on single target bosses because i dont like them messing with my hair ^^
