So, as some as you know, the warden class details were just revealed and confirmed.

Hey guys, we can confirm that the information here is real. It's a scan from OXM (Official Xbox Magazine) that was just released last week. :)

Many, including me, are disappointed with the warden. We were hoping for an ice DPS skill tree, and we were left with nothing but tanking. Then I realized, however, that it is in fact a good thing.

Hear me out: A Necromancer class, focusing on death, would more than likely include an ice tree. When the warden was announced, I feared that there would be no room for a frost dps tree in the Necromancer class.

Now, however, we can rest assured that this class is still possible as the warden lacks frost DPS capabilities.

With cold regards,
Mythic

Necromancer was no-brainer, it has been asked since pre-PC launch, in fact. I always thought Necromancer would be more suitable as addition to Werewolf and Vampire.

I doubt it. They would not add two classes both with an ice theme, it just wouldn't make any sense considering how they love to make classes 'unique' and having two that had ice/frost, even if different skills, would still be too similar; I would imagine that Necromancer will not have any type of elemental magic.

May have assumption is made. We have only seen a possibly leaked base set of skills. I don't think morphs were included which could include dps morphs.

However, with the frost staff hesvy attack being a taunt any dps ice build has a small issue that the cannot hesvy attack to get resources back if needed. Ofc it chould not he needed in raids but if.

I doubt we will ever get a frost DPS class since ZoS reworked frost to be magica tanking.

Unlikely it will be any kind of elemental spec's...Necromancers are "death magic" based classes. Perhaps they will create a new magicka skill line for the Necro.

I would prefer Necromancy to be a world skill line than an actual class with three separated skill lines.

Same for Bard, which I would prefer over Necromancy too.
Just so that everyone knows, my Altmer still can't have black hair. About a dozen of Altmer NPCs in the game have black hair. Just saying.

    Meet my characters:

Zadarri, Khajiit Fist of Thalmor: The thing was done, as commanded.
Durza gra-Maghul, Orc blacksmith: The thing was done perfectly, in the most efficient way.
Tegwen, Bosmer troublemaker: You can't prove I didn't do the thing.
Sings-Many-Songs, Argonian fisher: Sure, I'll do the thing... Eventually. Maybe.
Aerindel, Altmer stormcaller: After extensive research, I've come to the conclusion that doing the thing would be a waste of resources.
Liliel, Dunmer pyromancer: Aerindel said I shouldn't do the thing. Something about "resources".
Gyda Snowcaller, Nord cryomancer: I will find a way to do it that won't waste resources and make Aerindel proud of me.
Beatrice Leoriane, Breton vampire: I persuaded someone else into doing the thing. You are welcome, dear.
Sahima, Redguard performer: Doing the thing sounds awfully unpleasant and really not my problem.
Ellaria Valerius, Imperial priestess: I'll pray to the Eight for the thing to be done, if it is Their will.

Maybe, but the general consensus (before warden, mind you) is that there would be an ice tree, a disease tree, and an undead pet tree. Unless they made it as a world skill tree, idk how else they would fill that skill tree gap. Maybe poison?

Ah, well the association between Necromancers and frost likely stems from the fact that corpses are cold. In past TES games, necromancer enemies commonly used frost spells, and the same is true in many fictitious settings.

I would be happy either way, as long as it is added, but I can definitely see the appeal of it being a world tree. I would hate to reroll my main (which I have rerolled from max lvl 4 times now, as I could never get the right feel. This char was almost always played as a necromancer in past TES games.) I would most certainly reroll if/when a necromancer class came, but until then I will be playing my magsorc until my magblade is buffed, or until the sorc flavor grows on me (both are the 'same' character )

Death is connected to ice in many ways. Ice is the purest form of death. Just look at Dante's Inferno and the last sin (circle) where Satan resides. His domain is made of ice and is the most deadly and painful place in hell. Death is connected to ice in many historic tales, books and cultures.

Redguards hate necromancy, so do you remove them as being a playable race?

But lets see how this Warden unfolds first. Give me spell crafting and jewel crafting first.

In many crpg / mmos necromancers relay highly on summons (mostly undead).
You can solo most content of the game (yes even some vet dungeons) by simply being a sorcerer and have a pet that will tank for you. Also soon we will have another class that will also relay highly on pets (Warden).
I don't think there will be another, third class that will also relay on summons & pets...
    But hey everything is possible.

    btw.

I think the next class introduced after the warden will be the battlemage. A year ago, data miners already figured out that the code included placeholers for both warden and battlemages and the former one now is official: https://gitter.im/esoui/esoui/archives/2016/01/27

If this class will be able to necromance minions is something tbd ...
