"Solo friendly Craglorn", and the worst non-Dungeon Boss I've ever fought

When the patch came that made the Craglorn quests "Solo Friendly", I made a mental note thinking "Huzzah! I can finally Quest there." since I'm pretty much a loner. Though it mostly fell to the wayside for a very long time as I made other characters, did a ton of PvP here and there etc. Well lately I've been on an Achievement hunting frenzy with my main StamBlade, and I was in Craglorn doing the Shards and Delves n'such. And I noticed these Group Delves were going pretty well for me on my lonesome. And sooner or later after doing the exploration achievements I just fell into the Quests I've had stored for eons, and resumed the Amulet one, which ended in you getting the guy, lady, and horsey to rejuvenate the Warrior's Apex Stone. Well, standing right in front of the stone was a 700k health Boss.

And so I buffed. I opened, I fought, and suddenly found myself WAY over my head. My Stamblade has about 14k Spell Resistance and 16k Health. This guy was hitting me with 11k attacks every two seconds. Instead of actually fighting I was forced to keep dodge rolling and casting Vigor over and over, utterly draining my Stamina and eventually taking the two single hits it needed to down me.

I must have lost the fight a handful of times and I was starting to lose my mind, not to mention it's 3:30 in the morning. But a few of those times I had gotten SO CLOSE to finishing that it kept pushing me, and finally I managed to get what happens below;

I don't even. I just don't even. But, at least the Quest counted it.

    Craglorn has the best quests in the game, really demanding bosses and awesome scennery.

    I got trapped in a once of the Dwavern ruins as Stamblade for 2 hours, trying to fight a giant mechanical spider that would just one shot me.. and then one shot my group member.. we got a third player eventually to help... they also didn't last long.. then eventually we had to go find a cp552 to help us. I think the dwavern contraptions are immuse to poison damage and that is most of my damage also I was less than 160 cp at the time and had pretty awful gear.

    The second time I did it, on a cp 250 MagDk DPS, it was much easier.

    I think things are just hard for stamblades in PVE :/.

    Not everything was made into a solo quest and some are still group quests, including the two that are meant to be a part of the main quest line where you save the warrior and mage apex stones. I guess they looked at the anomaly visiting part of the mage one and just said screw it to making it solo friendly and decided to keep the warrior one the same way and adjisted things so you could do the final quest of Lower Craglorn without those two. Pretty big fail on quest design, if you ask me, though I do agree that they are awesome quests otherwise.

    you should have just slotted siphon. If you go soloing siphon+vigor is all you need against any type of boss and would save you even when doing terrible rotation :)

    Honestly i'm surprised about the feedback on this. I had only done half of Craglorn before the change so was keen to get back and do it from the start, and I was sorely disappointed by how easy it was. Sure a couple of fights put up a challenge - but others, some of the Delve bosses had like 150k health! It was way to easy.

    Anomalies are soloable - the Anx Ra / Crucible ones are a bit harder but again if you have been to vMSA they are a doable challenge.

    I guess I am full glass cannon, maybe that helps - but I definitely think the fights should be a bit harder in general

    well, you can't say you did great channeling strikes instead using finisher right? No need to go defensive tho, just trying to point out/ help how to play more secure there. Having resources up is what will give you more vigors and dodge rolls, and with siphon you get plenty of that.

    I believe the changes they made was to make all quests technically solo-able while not necessary being balanced for it (outside of the main quest). I remember Shada's Tear being a real pain at some parts.

    Siphoning Strikes wouldn't have helped me in that situation in any meaningful way as I would still be taking hits that took off 85% of my health, and these were the Boss' regular light attacks every 2 seconds. I can't roll dodge and heal forever. It's just my limitation with this character. My StamBlade does best against single targets, while I know for a fact I would've easily done this boss in one go if I were on my MagSorc Melting Kitty.

    This Boss was just a combination of fast casting hard hitting attacks combined with adds I couldn't get down fast enough. My StamBlade is utterly terrible handling groups as the character is very AoE limited and the pressure was too great.

    There's still some tough content in craglorn if you're not using a meta proc build (I don't). Other bosses that were once nearly impossible like the 3 lamia are a joke now.

    Ha ha, yes surprising, but soloable with higher level toons. The boss of Shyreach Pinnacle has 1.8 millions hp and I had soloed that. The catacomb's bosses are fun too. Ha ha. However, those area bosses, like that scorpion impaler, that orc bowman and his welva, and that ogre boss, all having 3.6 millions hp. Ha ha.. fun times there. What the heck is up with that.. Yes, still soloable, but why are area bosses have almost triple the hp than bosses in those quests/dungeons or those anomalies?!
