Maintenance for the week of February 16:
• PC/Mac: No maintenance – February 16

I predict that in the future ZOS will add storage chests to housing...

Further predictions: They will sell them for a very hefty price in the crown store, while not making them a perk for ESO plus subscribers. And if we're lucky, they will make the chest available in game as a furniture plan drop. However, the drop rate will be extremely low and require an insane amount of resources to craft, thus encouraging the crown store option.

It's my main gripe with homestead, I knew from pts it wasn't coming but they really need to introduce this. Limit it if you have to, 300 items for a large house, 100 small etc...but it needs to be done.

I predict once they're added we'll spend the next year seeing threads about how they need to have more room in them.

There is absolutely no legitimate reason ESO does not have more storage options.....even if we had to pay for more, it just makes no sense what so ever that we don't have more storage options in this game. Period.

I imagine if there are any storage upgrades to come, they will add a shed to ESO+ for housing wares.

Wrong. The reason is ESO Plus.

Presently the only real advantage of ESO Plus is the crafting bag. Crown store items are priced so outrageously as to make the 1500 monthly crown stipend trivial. DLC can be bought with crowns. And ESO Plus doesn't even include all DLC any more. Not with "chapters". So it's all about the crafting bag.

Add any kind of storage to housing and the main reason to subscribe disappears. ZO are probably deeply terrified about that prospect.

Housing should have storage. It would make perfect sense and also the game much less annoying. I want it. But there's always a reason behind even seemingly stupid decisions and in the case of business it's typically money.

Basically this. Because ESO is full of samey, simplistic (e.g. faceroll dungeons), run of the mill content, they cannot entice people to purchase a sub based on the strength of content alone, so they reel people in by making the quality of in game life poor. And the entire farce of an inventory in ESO is a prime example of them specifically engineering clumsy mechanisms to make people splurge money on things that really ought to be present in a game in 2017.

So yes, they likely will do something with housing storage, after all the houses are completely pointless as they are today, but it sure will come at a price.

The positioning of Morrowind outside of the subscription and crown store business model proves that the current system isn't making ZOS as much money as they would like.

That's why every new mount and motif is more and more expensive. ZOS will have to do something to counter this. My guess is that more and more content will be offered outside of the crown store.

Why not sell storage outright? Not even for crowns? They have already betrayed the subscription community by taking future DLC (including clockwork city) outside of the subscription model. Why not take more outside? Or come up with a new currency, (Lets call it clowns) and try again.

I agree. Not even buying house but i still agree. At the very most Id say they would provide a basic storage like default bank space or something with crown/gold upgrades like the rest of the storage options.

I'd rather have container to motif and recipe farm

Inventory shouldn't be linked to housing or storage IMO but adding more housing storage for housing items would be good

You have any sort of idea how inventory data works on the backend? The code and database involved?

I don't think storage as it was in Skyrim is a good idea for MMO.

I would prefer two other things:
    - mannequins and weapon racks;
    - furniture warehouse.

I think Zos will add more storage and it might be tied to housing though I expect it will be different than what many expect and home. It will likely be a gold sink such as current storage is.
