I can't install game via launcher I downloaded from site.

Only thing that comes up is preparing to install, it goes to 100% then it tells me to allow access to java and then nothing.
I tried running in compatibility mode but it didnt work, tried running as admin nothing.
I tried looking into appdata-local-tempt-folder name that starts with Isomething but once I unpack thing I need there is only vcredist_x86 in my Lanucher folder.
I saw someone mention deleting bethesda line from hosts but there is no such line.

Please help, I installed game via lanucher twice and this hasn't happened before.
If I'm not playing eso I'm probably lying down or going to shop or going to get water or mowing the lawn or going to school

Install in windows in "safe mode with network controllers". Old bug, but developers don't fix it.

I'm having the same problem, it looks like there's a problem with one of the files as when I followed a youtube tutorial it said click on the bethesda.net file but when I went to go click on it it wasn't there

So I did the previous workaround detailed in a youtube tutorial and on reddit to manually find the launcher executable in the temp files from your AppData folder. I got the game installed that way, but it wound up being a pain because your computer doesn't recognize it as an "installed program" - nor can addon management applications (Minion / Curse) find your game.

While this problem may seem like an issue with ESO, it's actually Nvidia's problem.**

Anywho, this seems to be an issue with Nvidia's drivers causing compatibility problems with Java. The patched driver can be downloaded from the below link. GeForce Experience will NOT prompt you to download this driver for whatever reason (go figure). This worked for me.

** If I'm wrong and you have an ATI card, then I'm sorry. I can't help you. Find the other threads/reddit posts/YT videos detailing how to manually get the game installed. Google can assist with that.

As this thread is over two years old we are closing the discussion. You can start a new thread if no recent ones exist. For issues where the launcher gets stuck when installing, you can follow the troubleshooting in the help article linked below.

What do I do if when installing ESO I see a message stating "InstallAnywhere is preparing to install" before stopping at 100 percent?
