Are Bears the Only Warden Ult Skin?

kifyiib14a_ESO
I know that there are other skills that call other animals but I am guessing those will not be permanent pets that stick with your character like the bear will. And even if they do, I highly doubt they'll be as powerful/useful.

My question is if there will be non-bear skins for your warden's bear ultimate skill. I would accept (albeit disappointed with) buying them from the crown store but honestly, for a game that touts customization and individuality, there's surprisingly little, it seems like, in the way of customizing the pets of your pet classes. It can't be that difficult to add in some kind of taming skill. Many MMOs have done it. MMOs with less funding and smaller communities than ESO.

Please could a community rep respond with something other than "There's pets from other skills." because I know that. What I don't know is if we'll see more skins than just a bear for that ultimate skill. I know there are different ultimates from the other two skill lines, but it is my impression that those will be related to ice and nature/healing magic. I like bears, but if everyone has a bear, it won't be special at all.

It's hard to read through your post since multiple paragraphs run together as one. It's hard to tell if your only talking about the one warden ult or also talking about items in the crown store.

The warden will likely have 3 ults with 2 morphs each. Anything is really a guess at this time but that's pretty much standard.

ESO touts having a large variation of build variety though not all builds can expect to be equal and reskining summoned creatures has never been a part of that equation since it doesn't add anything to actual build diversity.

Of course, mentioning that lesser MMOs have done whatever it is that you really want doesn't really say anything. Do they really don't what your suggesting or did they do something completely different and your just imposing that difference aspect into reskining the ult? Was it and good which is the best question since lesser games often have low quality if everything.

I hope there is also a ranger-like pet mechanic where you can just pick an animal that you find in the wild and train it to become your pet.

I would like that too, but I will settle for being able to just buy different skins. That they have another skin purchasable with the collector's edition tells me they intend to have different skins available in the future, as the mechanic to change skins will be in the game. I'm just hoping there are skins related to achievements, quests, and/or crown store, not ONLY buying the CE.

I think completing certain quests having to do with 'legendary' beasts or important species, etc, unlocking certain skins (like some quests unlock pets/costumes) would be really neat and fun. And others related to achievements, like defeating certain world bosses (the white lion and tiger in Grahtwood for example) unlocking those skins would be really neat and of course fun.

I basically don't want to be locked into only having a bear for everyone. Like I said, I like bears but if I have no options outside of bears I would be disappointed. Also, unlocking them via quests/achievements/crown store would mean less programming I would think? Since, like I said, the mechanic to switch skins seems to already be in the game with the CE grey bear skin.

I doubt that would happen. If anything they will just add different skins to the crown store.

Unfortunately I think you're right. And it's a little disappointing but I will be content with having different skins available with other means. Including crown store.

The warden bear appears to be limited to a bite and claw attacks as well as a standing lunge (at least from the eso live promo) given skins should be easy to apply but animations more complex your likely to see limited skin versions initially. Aside from the inevitable color variations of bear, I expect you will see Welwa; Sench and Sabre Cats soon.

I would like for them to expand this beyond just pet skins and do skins for class abilities too. Giving Templars other colors for their skills than just yellow. Appropriate colors mind you. Not talking about pink and purple.

So far the only animal you can summon permanently is a bear - the other animal skills are just short term effects like other classes skill effects.

And so far the only skins for that are a brown bear (default) or a grey bear (collectors edition).

BUT now they've got the tech in place to allow you to change it I'd be very surprised if it remains limited to those options. I think Thannazzar is right that new options may be limited by the fact that new animations take more time and effort but at the very least I'm expecting to see new bear options for the warden and maybe some other animals with a similar build (wolf, senche, sabre cat etc.) and probably different coloured daedra for sorcerers as well.

Further down the line we may see more options too. A bit like how when they finally started making non-horse mounts it was limited to various colours of guar and senche then they started adding other animals.
