Returning Player

Shreptob14_ESO
Hey guys. I'm returning to this game after a long time away. The first trial had just come out when I left to give you an idea of how long it has been. Anyhow, I decided to step foot into Cyrodil today and got absolutely REKT. I died in roughly 1.234235 seconds, lol. I'm assuming there is a major gear difference between me and people who have been playing for awhile. What would you suggest for gearing up for PVP. I play a Nightblade and prefer a magic build over stamina. When I left I was running a DoT build. If you know of any good guides for a returning player then I would appreciate being pointed in the right direction.

Thanks.

Alcast and sypher create great builds...they know their stuff. Both have websites...just google "alcast nightblade build." The bad news is that magblades are a little rough in pvp right now, from what I understand. I have a magblade...I just don't pvp with him much.

To start with, the vet system is now gone (if you ever played with it at all). Once you hit level 50 you start earning champion points, which slowly make you more powerful. This also drives what gear you can wear. A character is currently capped at 600 champions points (as of next week). But gear is capped at 160 CPs.

So a first priority is for you to get up to 160 CPs. At this point you can begin collecting best in game gear, which really, really, really helps.

The favored skills have also shifted. Take a look at some of the builds at the sites I've mentioned...they'll give you a good idea of the current meta. But for sure people are loving running the 2 ultimate combo of soul harvest on one bar (earn ultimate) paired with the destro staff ultimate...very effective. And pvp magblade builds I've watched recently are total gank builds: sneak, sneak, get behind, heavy fire staff attack, lotus fan, concealed weapons, again, again. You win, or you don't then they heal and you die, lol.

If the justice system is new for you, and the legerdemain skill line, then I advise grinding up to legerdemain 16 to spend in the reduce sneak cost passive here. This really helped my magblade in pvp. It's not so bad...spend one point to allow 220 fence transactions a day. Run a route and steal every thing...all the garbage. Sell and launder it. In 8-10 runs you'll level. My route is the inn complex in orsinium. Barely an nps, over 160 items in 5 minutes.

Hope those tips help. Welcome back to the game.
