I don't understand..is it intentional to make topal island better and earthtear cavern worse?

After watching the videos about homestead I really like the stony cavern style..yet I found that cavern does not even have half the potential the topal island has (or, a crown exclusive manor has). So I spent a whole night download and had a look about those two houses ---- and it confirms my thought.

You can see it from their maps, topal island has its huge area and unless you go to far to the sea (you will be bitten to death first) or reach the sky, you won't find invisible walls. Yet in the cavern its everywhere, and on the map of cavern half of the area is not even accessible because there is a invisible wall inbetween. ZOS u should know how uncomfortable it is in such a huge manor you can reach the edge and u can't jump through the air. Why do u even put that part on the map?? that's purely annoying.

I had my fair share of achitecture/landscape architecture class to know this is not going to be well unless some serious change is done to the cavern before offically release. The sales will be like Topal 10:1 Cavern (and this is optimistic evaluation). I tell u right now ZOS even if people like the style (like i do), they won't buy it because it is not worth the money (with an invisible edge it's not even as good as gold-paid manors) and it has little to none potential comparing to topal island. So please please, unless this is truly intentional, make it right. (You can simply remove the invisible walls between interior and exterior, give us an exterior which ends at the sea, (<- kinda must do if u want to make it good enough), and think about adding underground or cave)

Players can put stony structures on the other side of the island if you want to and that won't conflict with the existing wooden structures that were aleady on the island (we all see that cave on the island during ESO live), but there is no way you can put wooden style constructions in a stony cavern and make it look good. So earthtear cavern must have something else added to improve itself, or people will just buy topal, and such great style will be totally wasted. No one want to see that

Someone please @ ZOS designers.....

And...please think about where should we add more "room" space, the only solution i found is adding them on the water, but then why adding that much water in the first place?

Did they fix Topal Hideaway then? Last I heard you couldn't get to most of the actual island, only the beach and the little bit of land under the house.

You can swim around it, but everywhere except the one corner where the house is has sheer cliffs and apparently invisible walls just above the waterline.

I kind of like Earthtear Cavern as it is... It's good that the two homes are very different to each other. So what if more people buy the island? Does it matter? Some people will still buy the cave, in fact, if I were to be buying one of these two (which I am not, I am still torn between 3 other houses, none of them being the crown store exclusive ones) I would probably choose the cave, because there is no way in hell that I would be able to make the island even remotely the way that I would like to, with it being so huge, and with only 700 item slots

after wondering around the island i'm pretty sure u will spend all 700 furnitures on that one corner and it's probably not enough....

I have the feeling that ZOS is not letting us build above deep water? maybe that's why u can't build on other sides of the island

You speak true...guess i am just to obessed with cavern and wanting it to be perfect.:\

But seriously though, wouldn't u be annoyed to feel there are many invisible walls in the air? i swimmed to the edge, put some stone to make a bridge and i found out i can't walk though air...that annoys me a lot

I tried a few times to decorate the island, it was my favourite house at the beginning on the pts, but after spending so much time there, and in other houses, the novelty of the place wore off pretty fast, especially when I realised I couldn't decorate the whole island, and had to pick and choose only certain areas to look nice because 700 items is nowhere near enough for a space that large. For that reason alone, I wouldn't even consider buying Topal...

If I were going to get a crown exclusive it would be the cavern. I actually do not like the hut look of the island. If the island were bare to begin with then perhaps it would appeal but the way it is set up.....no. The Cave though has a couple of ideas...one make the back a small house and the rest a place for crafting. Make your own village the houses would be small....but many of the one room houses would fit inside. Three making an arena... Four would need something like ability to make farm like plots or small gardens...but all ideas which go better there then on the island.

The problems you stated about island are true… yet the invisible walls in the thin air of cavern drives me crazy X(

Yeah my main issue with the Cavern was the invisible walls. I hate those with a passion in games anyway, (of course I understand the need to block players in, I have designed levels myself before, but at least have a logical reason for why you can't go there, ie put some actual damn barrier there, a cliff face or rubble) but the collisions inside of the Cave are crazy. First thing I did when I tested it on the server was see if I could build a little bridge to that ledge on the right side, past the water, and no you can't go up there. But you CAN place objects there? :D

And the worst part for me is the secluded pool area on the left side of the area. It has a little wall blocking it, low enough to see it and jump over into it, but you can't, which is a shame.

I thought you forum handle looked familiar. :D

Out of curiosity, what kind of "answers" are you expecting? The devs don't respond to these sorts of threads, especially if they don't have anything to say about it one way or another. They might read your threads and take that into account when pricing the two Crown-exclusive homes... but they're not going to respond. In which case, I suspect you've probably gotten most of the response you're going to get, and that from the small subset of fellow players who care.

I'm not saying I disagree... I personally find Topal much more desirable than Earthtear (mm, sun and sand and small buildings I can use for specific purposes), but that is a matter of personal taste that not everyone is going to agree on. And given that most of the player-base likely doesn't actually intend to buy these homes outside playing around on the PTS (guilty!), not a lot of people are going to feel strongly one way or another.

So... I think you've pretty much gotten what response you're going to get, sorry.

"If you were trapped in your house for, say, a year, how would you pass the time?"

Nephikah the Houseless, dunmer assassin: "I suppose I could use the break. I have a lot of business holdings now that need management."
Swum-Many-Waters, elderly argonian healer: "I think that I would enjoy writing a memoir."
Silh'ki, khajiit warrior-chef: "Would this one be able to go outside, to the nearby river? It's hard to fish without water!"
Peregrine Huntress, bosmer hunter: "Who is forcing me to stay inside, and where can I find them?"
Lorenyawe, altmer mechanist: "And why would I want to go outside in the first place? Too much to be done in the workshop."
Lorelai Magpie, breton master thief: "I'd go nuts. Lucky for me, I have a little experience sneaking out!"
Rasheda the Burning Heart, redguard knight: "I would continue my training to keep my skills sharp."
Hex-Eye Azabi, khajiit daedric priestess: "I suppose it would be lucky, then, that I built a shrine to Mephala in my backyard."
Yngva Stormhammer, nord bandit (reformed...ish): "I hate being inside even when I'm not forced to be. GET. ME. OUT."
Madam Argentia, vampire dunmer aristocrat: "I suppose it would be more of the same. I have a rather... contentious relationship with the sun."
Mazie gra-Bolga, orc scout: "Uh... I'd have to house train my bear..."
Felicia the Wanderer, imperial witch-for-hire: "What Lorelai said."
Calico Jaka-dra, retired khajiit pirate: "This one would like a rest from her grand adventures. Her jewel shop runs out of stock!"
Shimmerbeam, blind altmer psijic: "Provided that I am confined to Artaeum, I do not think I will want for things to occupy my time."
Shauna Blackfire, redguard necromancer: "Sounds like paradise. I hate people."
Kirniel the Undying, cursed bosmer warrior: "I would feel useless, not being able to fight."

yeah that part is soooo annoying

And check the map, the reason you can place things in exterior is because it's actually “walkable space” (on the map it's whiteish like any other walkable land.).

Adds more questions though…makes no sense adding invisible walls inbetween
