I am new to eso and have been doing research and have come to the conclusion that I will be a red guard using dual wield and a bow however I'm unsure what class I should be if I'm doing mostly solo content PVE with very little PVP.

    Which dual-wield to two-handed.
    Dual-wield will be nerfed soon.

    Don't do that.

You'll still get more dps out of dw in pve..

If small or solo pvp then you should put on a 2h.

I personally play dual wield and bow on a khajiit Sorcerer.
You could play any class with this setup in fact... Maybe Nightblade and Sorcerer are a more adapted choice however. I have been playing this sorcerer for nearly two years, and it's the only class I know in depth, so you'll need someone's else advice.

All four classes work well with stamina builds now. If you are on PC, you can download PTS client and make max level template character to try each class and see what you enjoy more. Otherwise, maybe watch some youtube videos of people playing the various classes.

I'm following this atm and its working out nicely for me for DW/Bow

its got setups for PvE, PvP, solo and group game play for the Nightblade.

    Nightblade Stam dps build/

As far as PvE is concerned you can be really anything and do really anything and be fine. NB tank? sure go ahead! DK Magicka dps? More power to you! Sorc Phys DPS bow and daggers? Unusual but workable.

They wont be Crème de la Crème of builds like a DK tank a NB DPS a Sorc Mag DPS or a Sorc Healer but they are passable and the first few characters you make shouldn't be keepers to be honest they should be characters you screw the pooch on. 8 characters base limit 3 deletes to start +1 delete every day when under 3 The game gives you more than enough time to experiment and find your niche.

If this is your first time through - i would recommend a templar in heavy armor...not exactly ideal for a red guard; however, you'll have a much more forgiving build which will allow you to learn the game and survive most fights while you're doing it...

buff up your stamina, and, you'll be able to "jab" most stuff to death for quite a few levels...

Mostly because Templar seem to get easily outshone by the rest of the classes from my experience.

Sorc Does a better magicka dps and/or healing

NB does a better Phys dps

Dk is the tank none of the other classes can do everything it can do for tanking.

Templar is supposed to be the healer but I see far more Sorc healers that do amazeballs than I do templar healers and I don't see a templar out Mdpsing a Sorc.

That being said I do agree with this out of anything the Templar is the most forgiving out of all the classes to fubar with.

Magicka Templars are very good for Solo PvE stuff, and have great survivability - With the right kit they are also competitive in groups.

I currently have my Dunmer Magicka Templar main char, running all crafted (apart from jewellry), and she is able to hold her own in all solo PvE and able to hold the DPS in groups enough to keep things going.

5 Julianos, 3 Magnus' Gift, 3 Transmutation Jewellry (spell damage glyphs). 64 points in Magicka. 37K Magicka, 22K Health, 9K stamina.

2192 spell damage, 1250 Magicka recovery. Using lightning an resto staffs as part of the Magnus Gift setup.
