Benefits of keep ownership?

Are there any benefits to a guild owning a keep? I do a lot of solo PvP and feel like keeps are almost always unclaimed.

Couldn't some buff being given to members of a guild that hold a keep and the longer they hold it the buff tiers up? Wouldn't necessarily have to be an in Cyrodiil buff but something. Believe that is how DAoC was (it's been a long time since I played that game).

A few ideas I'm just spit balling, tiers based on time the keep has been owned with no break in ownership:

1) 1%, 2% or 3% buff to all stats when doing dungeons or trials
2) 1%, 2% or 3% buff to AP gained in Cyrodiil
3) 2%, 4% or 6% buff to tel var gained in IC

The way I see these, creates reasons for people to do both PvE and PvP with the same guild, creates incentive to group in Cyrodiil and also brings additional benefit to IC and reason to go there.

These are just some thoughts I had, interested to hear from others.

Pve buffs obtained in cyrodiil were removed long ago.

Currently there are no benefits besides guild store access and people seeing your name.

Relatively new (started about 6 months ago on PS4 NA) and find that really surprising to hear.

I personally can't think of a logical reason not to promote keep ownership in a PvP mode centered around, well, keep ownership.

Allow me to rephrase this: it forces dedicated PvE-ers to join PvP guilds and leech buffs without earning them, or to go out and claim keeps on their own, which wastes time they'd rather spend in dungeons and trials.

Seems removing links between PvE and PvP only creates a deeper divide in the community.

No one would be forced to pvp to keep doing trials and dungeons, but supporting a guild and alliance should give greater benefits imo.

ZOS is more focused on gameplay than who can click claim the fastest.

Also the pve buffs that we used to have were tied to emperorship and distorted trial scores. For keep ownership buffs, trial guilds would zerg their inner keeps on alts and have a member waiting on their home faction to claim the keep when their faction takes it back. The claims would sit unchanged for a long time, as inner keeps do not change hands as often as ring keeps. There are only so many safe keeps to collect buffs on, so this would crowd out pve guild competitiveness.

Tldr there are flaws to any pve buffs obtained in cyrodiil, and we have more pressing balance issues to advocate to ZOS than keep claiming imo, although it should be addressed eventually.

    3% increase to all stats.

    See a connection?

We've been there before. It didn't work out too well.

I don't really see a problem with encouraging people to participate in the whole game. Doing high end PvP requires gear from PvE does it not?

Regardless, scrap that one, there still could be ways added to make keep ownership matter.

Greater reward could be given for holding a keep not in your alliance territory to encourage "invasions" into other alliance territories and get people out of the center ring.

    These are just ideas.

Require a minimum of 12 guild members to be in the keep to claim.

End of the day, encouraging organized grouping in Cyrodiil seems like a good thing.

Ap bonus is a nice idea. But make the bonus bigger for emp keeps.

Only issue with this I see is it encourages folks to congregate where they already are and these keeps are already the most important.

If holding keeps closer to enemy gates gave bigger bonuses it would encourage groups to break out of the inner circle.

Cyrodiil is an awesome zone but a lot of it sees little to no activity from my experience.

I see keep ownership as a way to 1) improve/encourage organized grouping and 2) use existing features of the map (the keeps are already there!) to spread out the player base.
