Allow people to convert crowns into crown gems

Maybe 10 gems per 10 or 100 crowns would benefit you more as people who don't want to buy crown crates can still get the items within the crates through crown purchases and conversions. 100 seems to high and 10 seems too unreasonable so find a middle ground

They specifically introduced the crates to force people to gamble their money away instead of outright buying stuff.
They will never cut into that.

I'd get behind this! Good compromise, and a win-win for Zos and the players who want things that cost gems!

    wont happen
if u want those sweet, sweet crown crate exclusives you have to get the shaft for at least 50 dollars of crown soul gems and poisons that youll never use so you convert
May the Schwartz be with you.

    Thats not how it works

The whole point is to force gambling which actually isn't gambling because its digital. You can't beat the programed system

Prob best just to play the game or avoid the crates all together. I did buy some just to say I did it. I won somethings I'd never use and have over 100 gems (Yes I blew 5k crowns) and highly suggest to not buy crates. I'm the guy that said he would never buy them

If they did do this, your conversion rates are waaaaaaay off mark. It'd be something like 400 crowns for 15 gems. Because after unlocking everything you get on average 15 gems per crate, and the price for a single crate is 400 crowns (not counting discounts at higher tiers). At this rate, it would cost 10,666 crowns (around $80 USD normal price or $48 on sale) to get a single Apex mount. You could alternatively get 31 crates for that amount, which is about a 67% chance to get an Apex reward, but would give you a large amount of other crap and somewhere around 200 gems should you convert every consumable.

That being said, there is a 0% chance of them actually adding in an option to directly purchase gems. If they did want to make crate stuff available on the regular store they'd just attach a regular crown price on it as well. There is also approximately a 0% chance of doing that as well for the current crate season, but I could see offering crate-exclusive items on the regular store for a limited period of time (like their 4-day sales) a year or two after they were initially released.

I'd rather ESO+ just have the option to outright buy non-Apex rewards for regular crown prices. $15 is better than nothing if there's only a single pet or costume that interests a player for that season.

You too? ;) I said I'd never buy them, then left the game for awhile, I come back and see the most awesome Storm Atronach Senche mount... I wanted it!! Most of my characters have a 'storm' theme, and the senche mount is the only mount I will ride because the ride is smooth and doesn't make annoying sounds. So, I gambled with a 5K Crown Crate, and got basically nothing I wanted/needed and ended up with 73 Gems. *sigh* I decided to go all in, if worse came to worse, I'd spend enough to gain 400 Gems to buy it outright. Well, lady luck was on my side, as the Storm Atronach Senche came up on my second 5K Crown Crate purchase!! B)

Instead of this, they should just remove gems entirely and allow you to purchase the mounts with pure crowns.

    @ADarklore

    Maaan they got me. Yep
And then I did get one of the storm mounts but not a sencheso I literally fought buying anymore

Finally I made myself buy the bank and merchant. (I already had one) so then I'm
Like Heeeck no I'm not waiting another $39

But ya know having not tried it was the issue. It wasn't so much the rewards

Nope - if they take the lowest possible gems-out-of-crate haul - assuming you shred everything in your crate for gems but got the lowest possible - then divide that in half and charge crowns to get that rate - so the folks wanting the "sure thing" actually pay more for those gems than they would with random crate and shred-for-gems, then its a money maker.

Even 15 is too generous for them. The starting rate is about 1 to 2 gems per 100 crowns spent. So 8 per 400 would be more likely, (4 even more so). They want to encourage a section of their customers to over spend rolling the virtual dice.

+1 I'd like to be able to buy crown gems. I did get some crates early on and now i'm left with some crown gems that i'll never use because I don't have enough to get anything I actually want.

I'd just be happy if we could could convert the hairs, costumes, mounts and pets into gems even if we don't already have the item. I don't want that ugly Soul Shriven robe, and I hate that it's now stuck in my inventory permanently and they didn't give me the option to trade it for gems. Even worse, the Argonian Jaw Blades (or whatever they are called). I never even play Argonians. Ever.

Why asking for conversion from one useless digital currency to another, just ask for the item to be sold in crowns, isn't that simpler.

ZOS has really hypnotized quite a crowd towards towards Gamble Crates. Don't give in like this, fight it off the urge for scamming pixels, we are all better than this. Come on, snap out of it, it's just a bad dream.
