Maybe 10 gems per 10 or 100 crowns would benefit you more as people who don't want to buy crown crates can still get the items within the crates through crown purchases and conversions. 100 seems to high and 10 seems too unreasonable so find a middle ground

Lol not gonna happen. They love to double dip their players.

The whole point is to force gambling which actually isn't gambling because its digital. You can't beat the programed system
Prob best just to play the game or avoid the crates all together. I did buy some just to say I did it. I won somethings I'd never use and have over 100 gems (Yes I blew 5k crowns) and highly suggest to not buy crates. I'm the guy that said he would never buy them

You too?I said I'd never buy them, then left the game for awhile, I come back and see the most awesome Storm Atronach Senche mount... I wanted it!! Most of my characters have a 'storm' theme, and the senche mount is the only mount I will ride because the ride is smooth and doesn't make annoying sounds. So, I gambled with a 5K Crown Crate, and got basically nothing I wanted/needed and ended up with 73 Gems. *sigh* I decided to go all in, if worse came to worse, I'd spend enough to gain 400 Gems to buy it outright. Well, lady luck was on my side, as the Storm Atronach Senche came up on my second 5K Crown Crate purchase!!
as much as I would love this, I doubt it'll ever happen. It's nerfing ZOS moneypersecond.
If they did do this, your conversion rates are waaaaaaay off mark. It'd be something like 400 crowns for 15 gems. Because after unlocking everything you get on average 15 gems per crate, and the price for a single crate is 400 crowns (not counting discounts at higher tiers). At this rate, it would cost 10,666 crowns (around $80 USD normal price or $48 on sale) to get a single Apex mount. You could alternatively get 31 crates for that amount, which is about a 67% chance to get an Apex reward, but would give you a large amount of other crap and somewhere around 200 gems should you convert every consumable.
That being said, there is a 0% chance of them actually adding in an option to directly purchase gems. If they did want to make crate stuff available on the regular store they'd just attach a regular crown price on it as well. There is also approximately a 0% chance of doing that as well for the current crate season, but I could see offering crate-exclusive items on the regular store for a limited period of time (like their 4-day sales) a year or two after they were initially released.

I don't want that ugly Soul Shriven robe, and I hate that it's now stuck in my inventory permanently and they didn't give me the option to trade it for gems. Even worse, the Argonian Jaw Blades (or whatever they are called). I never even play Argonians. Ever.
