Arcane Well vs Last Stand vs Unchained - enough with the Stam/Mag disparity, ZOS

I really can't stand when ZOS designs a general buff or perk that works for one resource group, then no equivalent for the other. Example: witches festival offered some really good purple recipes for magic toons, then when new life came around the stam recipes were way weaker. Why?? Whhhhhhhyyyyyyy?

In the CP system, magic toons get arcane well. This is a massive perk - a 20% chance on kill to restore 1358 magic to three allies. This is part of the reason magic resources are so dang limitless, particularly in 4p pve. My stamina guys would LOVE a useful buff for spending 120 in a line. What do we get?

1. Last Stand: this is the equivalent to Arcane Well. It restores 18 ultimate when you fall below 20% health. This is freaking stupid. It only rewards me for being a poor player, and the reward is the equivalent ultimate of like three heavy attacks.
2. Unchained: we might argue that this is the actual counterpart to arcane, since last Stand sucks so hard. Reducing the stam cost by 80% for 3 seconds after breaking free. Ok...not horrible. It still requires me to play weaker to take advantage of...and unlike arcane well I have to actually think to take advantage of it. But now they're nerfing it?

My suggestion: nix last Stand and give stam users some sort of resource restore perk that is at least a little equivalent to arcane well.

    There's some magic players taking advantage of the unchained passive too. Also you don't have to be a weak player to take advantage of it, it's extremely useful in PvP.

    That is true...I shouldn't say "poor player." What I mean is that unchained will only proc when in dire straits, which hopefully isn't that often. Arcane Well, on the other hand, procs all the dang time. If I consider my magplar and stamplar, I'd guess my magplar pulls Arcane Well 100 times for every 1 time my stamplar pulls unchained.

    My bigger point is that I have several stam toons and several magic, and I'm frankly getting really tired of stamina being a constant resource management struggle, where the magic flows pretty freely on magic characters.

    So most of the time arcane well triggers, its for naught cuz my char is 20m away from the kill.

    Dont seem to have that issue with last stand or unchained.

    So it might be they serve different builds differently, serve different content differently, etc...

    What, you kill 500 players (= 100 arcan well procs) and get stunned just once in the same time? Where do you find that many bad players?

    Also if everything had a magicka and stamina version, it would be boring and we could just go back to playing games that only have 1 ressource for using skills.

    You are lacking playing experience, at least in PvP. No matter if you fight a zerg or a single decent player, you will be hard-cced again, as soon as cc-immunity runs out. Taking lag into account and a decent build allowing for frequent breakfree, we can assume that your unchained passive will trigger every 6-8 seconds.

    With 3 seconds uptime, you are looking at a total uptime of unchained cost reduction in any fight of about 33-50%. That is the single best passive in the game, period! Hence, good players work their builds around unchained timings to maximize the yield by burning their high-cost abilities within those low-cost phases.

    I have no idea wtf OP is talking about.
    Never, on either my Stamblade or my StamDK, have I ever had a problem with maintaining my Stamina unless I'm being zerged.

    On the other hand, My MagDK can't go a minute without Orbs and potion chugging to try and maintain my resources, Arcane Well be damned. The 1200 return is 1 extra whip at best.

    I should have specified PVE. Stam characters are competitive in pvp due to burst dps. It's pve where they've been modified into underperforming. Experts like Alcast have shown and commented on this effect a great deal...it's pretty well established that stamina is at a disadvantage in pve content.
    That (unchained) is the single best passive in the game, period!

    Then you have been heard loud and clear...since unchained will no longer reduce the cost of multiple abilities after update 13. You get one shot at a reduced cost...this nerf is part of what I'm complaining about.

    1358 Magicka is not much at all. This is not even enough to cast most abilities.

    I get a lot more mileage out of Unchained - allows me to cast free caltrops or shuffle - any expensive ability - every time I break free, which is quite frequent in Cyrodiil.

    If anything, I think Arcane Well would benefit from a buff, not Unchained.

    arcane well has never worked in cyro, it was included in patch notes once saying it was fixed but you have never received an arcane well proc from a player. On the other hand all the stam crap still works in pvp so the logic doesnt work for cyro

    So luckily unchained is getting crushed with the nerf bat next patch. One of the best changes in 2.7!
