Scamming, how is it done?

So yesterday someone asked if anyone had Mythic Ambrosia, I had 4. I went to trade and somehow they pulled their gold before it was complete. I always wait to see what they actually put up and never saw it removed. Then same thing happened on another trade a minute later.

So my question is how are they doing this? Is there some kind of glitch that allows this. I find it hard to believe they could be that fast as to not be noticed since the screen would have to go from blue to normal to blue again in a fraction of a second.

I guess everyone will have to start screenshotting trade windows so that if someone manages to scam you out of a transaction, you have screenshots to show as proof for your support tickets.

I'd also submit a bug report on it.

Khajiit would put anything like that up for sale via a guild store.

The guild gets a cut and the fees will need to be paid but the system you know it works yes.

Someone enquires and you can always tell them which trader to go to in order to make the purchase yes.

I'm sure you clicked trade after they put it up and took it down before you clicked .... Take big trades slow not fast

If you truly feel something fishy went on a game aster can pull up the transaction and review it to look for signs of weird clicks etc

In game mail cod surely that can't be scammed

COD is a safer way, but if they're pump faking you, your item is gonna be sitting there for a month. Just had some guy sell me " tempers" COD announced through area chat. I didn't look at them before picking up, but they were actually rosin. I got suckered for like 30k too much.

Yeah unfortunately 3 of my 4 trade guilds lost traders this week.

Yeah in the big picture it was only 240k with of sales. But you try and give decent prices and somehow help, I guess no good deed goes unpunished

Bonus points if you get someone to come on your TS server and beg/rage, record it, post it online then get yourself perma-banned.

Unfortunately not everyone has access to a guild trader.

Though you would think the trade window was a secure place to trade.

Yes OP this is the best way to make sales solo without using guild stores.

I have yet to trade on ESO. I know other MMOs I have played that when you trade if one player removes an item it resets the trade window, therefore scamming that way is a bit harder. However, players still scam but stating, I require ABC before I put my item in the window to trade. Some players fall for that. LOL.

This is why I only use the trade window if I intend to give someone something outright. Sorry to hear about your misfortune OP.

The trade window in eso let's you see what's offered before submitting for trade. I have used it many times in the past without trouble. This was the first time I have run across this. I ever actually saw them zero out the gold. Not sure if they can back out of it and somehow still get the trade items. As for now I'm only trading with guildies everyone else is gonna be COD through the mail.

It's all good, wasn't hear to complain just to try and figure out how to not let it happen in the future. COD is the only way I see as of now. The only thing I hate with cod is the 30 day window.
