While the PTS is still underway I wanted to see what people thought about the current system by which they get monster shoulders and how it could be improved.
I know this is not a new idea and it has been floated around before, but i wanted to highlight the problem on here to see what others think of it.

To put a few things into perspective I would like to say a little about my situation. I main a magDK running 5x spellweave 4x IA and 2x Grothdarr. As you may have guessed I've been trying to get a medium/heavy divines shoulder of Grothdarr since 1T landed and so far of my 350 keys spent since the update (excluding the first day) I've not had a single shoulder. I'm not saying 'I've had a sturdy one and that doesn't count!'. I have not received a single shoulder since the first day the update came out and I spent 50 gold and silver keys that I'd saved up, and that was only medium infused. I think this is downright appalling, I've been doing 3 sets of pledges every day trying to complete my setup , that's a combined total of 400 keys and only a single item I can work with.

Now, the change that has been talked about by many is to have a system similar to the Master writs in a way. Instead of using the keys for RNG in the boxes, can we not save them up and buy what we want from a vendor? I wouldn't even mind if the cost was something stupid like 100 keys per item, just as long as I know I'm working towards getting it. Some people might say 'get over it and just keep doing pledges, you'll get it eventually!', and well I probably would say that if the shoe was on the other foot. But have you tried spending 3 months farming a single item that could statistically never come? It a bit depressing.

I would love to know what you guys think of this, should it remain the same? Should something change? Is there an easier way that ZOS could implement this?

Just take out prosperous and training ffs. Completely useless and just a troll to everyone. Other than that, leave it the way it is now. They're practically handed to you anyways.

I spend 782 keys now (stacked from month before 1T) trying to get Grothdarr, Ilambris and Stormfist, and I get two infused Ilambris, six trash Ilambris, seven trash Stormfist and not a single Grothdarr. Oh, and 401 training/prosperous also, and only one divine (Nerieneth with the same weight I already have).
I totally agree for a system who cost one key for a random shoulder, some (5 at least) for a precise shoulder with random trait and 10-15 keys for a shoulder with a chosen trait. Random is NOT fun, nor rewarding.
