Make the Target Dummy easier to obtain

I absolutely love that will be a dummy finally, but I would bring up the following points about the likely cost (at least for a long time after housing release, when they are still rare).

There are 3 types of people that need the dummy:
1) Experienced player who are doing theorycrafting. This group will probably be able to afford a dummy or know someone who has.
2) Console players since they don't have access to addons. Some of this group will have access, some not.
3) Newer players, or players new to DPS. These people are the ones who need it the most, and won't have it.

I think the people who are in most need of a dummy (the poor new player who doesn't realize that they are doing 6k DPS in a dungeon, and that its terrible), will not be able to buy or craft one, and won't be able to improve. There are already a huge number of issues in this game related to the huge jump in difficulty from normal to vet content, if target dummies were easy to acquire it would be a lot easier to suggest to DPS that they require at least say 15k DPS before they start doing vet content.

Summary: Please consider reducing target dummy cost to make it more available to new players.

Dummies should be cheap if not free. We begged for this for a while to help us test DPS. It is useful to a majority of the community however ZOS is set on not only making the recipe cost a lot but also the mats to build one (especially for theory crafters who already spend a lot of time/money on gear). This is a slap in the face of players who just want a simple consistent solution to testing dps. Instead most are still going to have to look for a bloodspawn group or hit on the same few mammoths in wrothgar.

Stupidity again on ZOS's part, its like they take our advice but do it half-a&%ed. I am not against them selling rarer dummies/upgrades that offer different stats to test against but the first one should at least be cheap or free.

Perhaps have a basic dummy that is more easily obtainable and made of straw and luxury versions - the three bony ones.

It's such a simple and basic staple of many games where dps checks are needed, I don't understand why it has such a wall in front of it.

That basic furnishing vendor should sell the skele as is for 500 gold, and crafters should get ones they can make with different skins on them for their efforts and increased cost

Target Dummy is a gold item on the PTS. This makes me think it is going to be hard to get and make. But I'm sure you will be able to buy it in the crown store.

Maybe, but it's pretty hard to require people to buy a crown store item to effectively play. It would be very shortsighted of ZOS to try an make a few $$ at the cost of making sure many new players cannot graduate to harder content.

Check out @Alcast 's vid on obtaining a target dummy:

For short:
1) You need to be an experienced crafter
2) You need to craft a very specific item (can be legendary, so RIP your gold mats)
3) You have to give said item to a contact (easy part)
4) You have to buy the schematics for the dummy and learn it (it's one time)
5) You have to craft the dummy

The dummy is quite expensive to craft as well. Of course, you can still buy one instead, but I expect the prices to be in the 100k+.

Huh?

Target dummies are purely cosmetic and are used to help gauge your DPS and combat abilities in a closed environment. They aren't used in live combat ... definitely not P2W.
