Any benefits of having a dunmer for a stamplar?

I have a magicka templar but I want to do stamina, the only issue I see is the fire passives may not be good this will be for pvp and pve, I hear having the mana and stam buffs help.

I'm stamina. Don't do it man. Stamina DPS is already under serious strain in after proc nerfs and now there's another nerf on PTS for Stamina Templars CC.

Stamina doesn't have the sustainability necessary, unless it's AOE to be viable anymore.
Your complicated melee rotation is easily broken by mechanics and your dps falls in a blink of an eye.
Trap was also nerfed, need I say more?

Magplar/Support will probably be the only two viable classes for Templar by the end of Q1.

Soon Stamplar will be absolute in end-game PVE, if it isn't already. Stick to Magplar.
Dragonborn, huh? Was it your ma or your pa that was the dragon?

I won't comment on the whole stamplar vs. magplar thing (at least not in terms of which one is actually better - I've got both and I personally enjoy the magicka ones more, but I honestly don't play the stamina ones enough to really judge if they're worse).

I will say that the Dunmer racial passives really are much better for a magicka build than for a stamina build. Having said that, my Redguard magicka templar says hello! His racial passives don't do anything to support a magicka build, but that character is also pretty much my go-to for most of the end-game PVE that I do. He's not exactly great at PVP, but that's at least partly because I don't have any PVP gear for him.

So I guess my post boils down to: what you're looking to do is far from optimal, but that doesn't necessarily mean that it won't work. It won't ever be the best, but you could get it to work well enough for just about anything other than leaderboards.

Well this is bad news, but honestly I find mageplar boring so far, partly because I want to play a closer ranged playstyle while using some magical abilities, and the other it seems a bit to easy to play, I like healing in mmorpgs but for some reason I am just not digging it much so far in eso, and I am far more into buffing/cc support type of characters and eso does not seem to have that. The dps side is kind of fun but also feels way to easy and repetitive, I find dpsing with my sorc allot more varied and fun if that makes sense.

That was my understanding of Magplar as well, it seemed the rotation was too rinse and repeat, no matter the situation. Where as a Stam, I cycle between brutality, sustain and support buffs all the time which makes it so much fun.

Along the line I've followed several builds and ended up with this extremely mobile, ST nuker to try and kind of counter the nerfs and make it generally situational. But the closer I come to end-game content, the less viable the class feels, no matter how I skin the cat it stays a cat. With all the necessary gear and great rotation, recently I've been struggling to keep up with a simple Sorc dps.

With all the recent nerfs being thrown into Stam's face I wouldn't recommend trying it in the near future as it's looking bleak. I've been thinking about slowly expanding my trees and gear collection to be able to jump to Magplar when the time comes so my main-toon doesn't become a high level mule.

Well good to know it is not just me, maybe there is another stam build that feels similar.

i'm not sure about dps potential of stamplar, but stamplar can do fine tanking. we only need to slot biting jabs to handle both single target and aoe dps situation, we have Power of Light to apply minor fracture and major breach. we have Extended Ritual to cleanse debuff and give us major mending (it boosts my vigor to 14k heal on self and 10k heal on others). and if the healers are going to use Radiant Aura instead of Repentance (with the new morph stealing 400magicka per second from each mob in 28m radius, i don't see why not), we can slot repentance ourself to restore stamina.

I had some great success using Pelinals on a Hybrid Stamplar build paired with Dreugh King Slayer. I used Redguard but Dark Elf would synergise well with the Pelinals and the hybrid setup, especially if you're using burning light, slightly less sustain though than using a redguard.

I changed to Magplar in the end, because I like trying different setups, but must admit I'm thinking of going back to stam as it was really strong.

At this point I am concerned about continuing with much of anything.
