Most DPS's I have seen gets about a 70-75% up time on BSW and around a 90%+ up time on SPC and so people do rely on it quite significantly and without SPC for example the DPS of a Trial group would lower quite a bit. BSW even with its downtime adds a lot of damage. Its why its so sought after.1 -

5 bsw+5sm or 5 bsw+5 tbs, or the current meta with ilmabris set+IA jewelry?
Maybe even drop vMA weapon and use Kena head or shoulder for +spell dmg and +2% more stats from the undaunted..

I have run this build. It is one of those builds that looks fantastic on paper. (You can do the same type of thing with Moondancer instead of Aether to really stack spell damage), but in practice it is not as good as I hoped.
In PVP, having BSW on one bar can be very useful because you can time when it procs for some serious burst. In PVE, it is all about % uptime throughout the fight. Everyone I know (myself included) has found that when you only have BSW on one bar in PVE, your up time really suffers. If it gets to low, it is simply not worth running
Also, that build only works if you get 2 very specific staffs in sharp (BSW Inferno and Lightning Infal). I have both, but pretty sure that puts me in a small minority. I would never tell anyone to run a staff that isnt sharp, no matter what the set is. Sharp is wildly OP, more so than any set for PVE DPS.0 -
