ZOS pls make at least the style mats of Harlequin and Stalhrim obtainable in the game

Dear ZOS,

while I do not like the idea of crown store exclusive motifs, even if Stalhrim looks totally awesome, you could do at least the style mats for Grim Harlequin and Stalhrim Frostcaster motifs droppable in the game, maybe do an instanced 4- or 5-player dungeon, starting from the festival`s questhub location and make it a procedurally generated infinite dungeon,
what do you say ZOS ?

The entire point of the crown store exclusive motifs is to push the sales of mimic stones.
The next exclusive motif will probably come with 0 mimic stones.

I admit it's a little sinister of them: We have to purchase the motif, but then we cannot actually use it meaningfully until we purchase more.

It leaves a bad taste in ones mouth and reflects poorly on them and how they are perceived to feel towards their player-base.

and if you wanna craft it for someone else, then you have to buy mimic stone with actual money so it is a direct gold sink trough real money, WTH ZOS?????

They would only release those style mats into the actual game world when they feel theres no longer a profit in it. We might see Grim Harlequin because from my anecdotal observations hardly anyone uses that style. But not a fat chance with Stalhrim as Frostcaster is extremely popular.

As someone buying a motif from the Crown Store for the first time, there was no indication that I would have to rely on Mimic Stones in order to craft in that style. I assumed since you were adding the motif that perhaps there would be an in-game source for gathering the needed reagent for the Frostcaster motif to be included along with the in-game holiday festivities.

I'm angered that you would do something like this, it's such an obvious cash grab ploy that feels deceitful and disrespectful of your customer base.

I was excited to grab this from the Crown Store the moment it was made available, but I'd have major reservations about purchasing any similar item from the Crown Store in the future.

I would hope that a source for these Stalhrim shards is in the planning for next patch or at least add an in-game source for random Mimic Stone drops. This is disgraceful.

Yeah, I bought the Stalhrim motif, stupidly trusting I'd get enough mimic stones to at least craft a full set, like with the Grim Harlequin. This kind of petty cheapness is why people are pissed about the direction the crown store is going. Would it really kill your profit margins to give us 10 mimics, ZoS? C'mon, guys... Was the thought process that we'd be forced to buy stones, because I'm so annoyed that I'm going to make a point of not purchasing them, because if you can be petty, well, so can I.

That said, I know they don't care about the actions of one player, or the few tiny angry threads we post on the forums. These kind of tactics work because the majority let them. Makes me sad.

The biggest problem with these two style mats not being available in game is it provides a venue for people to convert crowns into gold.

Generally at a rate of around one stone to 10k. Now, that's actually a bit of a problem because runs directly counter to what ZOS was trying to do with ESO's Crown shop.

"Leaking" these into the game at random, rare, intervals (such as via 3/3 crafting hirelings) would cut the market's legs out from under it without actually punishing players who bought the mimic stones (unless it was specifically to turn around and make money off them).

Now, you can (correctly) argue that 10k isn't enough to worry about, and that this isn't a serious conversion of crowns to cash... but, still, it's something that should be addressed.

You know, if they added Solstheim... I'd be happy. If they added a new Stalhrim motif with it, and then let you craft the style mat from that into shards... that'd work. I'd be really happy with that.

I wouldn't be surprised at all to find out we have to give mimic stones back to get it. The greed is strong in the clown store.

I have 2 charcaters wearing heavy harlequin chests! the main attraction for me s that i havent seen anyone else wearing them!

Surely this can't be a surprise. Crown motifs are a 1-shot sale. You buy them, your character uses them, you're done.

The only way that they could guarantee ongoing sales from this particular piece of foulness was to:

a) make crown store only motifs.
b) make those motifs use style materials that were limited or absent outside the crown store.

And this isn't going to change. It is likely to expand as more crown motifs are added.

It was inevitable the moment the community swallowed the inclusion of motifs in the crown store at all.

Check the guild Traders.

There will always be players with more money on them than time available to play that will sell these kinds of items.

EDIT: they are obtainable by deconning items with that motif.

I sold 2 of the frosty style items yesterday after I deconned the items I made that I didnt like. Probably should have charged more for them.

If it weren't for the weapons, I'd say stahlrim isn't too great. But these white glowing icy weapon style things look simply stunning.

Well, heavy armor is nice as well as long as viewed from the back side. Makes my butt look totally fantastic. Uni-breast, though.

Anyways, Grim Harlekin armor looks nicer than Stahlrim, in my opinion.

But the nice thing about both: Finally I can run around differently. Not very many go for those motif as they are heckuva expensive...

Not exactly though. Your character can craft them for the entire life of that character. And that's how it should be, imo. You buy a mount and it's a 1-shot sale; no need to buy the crown riding lessons for crown mounts. Mounts aren't even character bound like the motifs.

Mimic stones should be optional; for those who don't want to farm materials or don't want to pay in-game gold for the trait styles. Like with the other motifs sold on the crown store. You can farm those styles in game, but you get a few mimic stones to get you started, if you don't already have the mats.

Making mimic stones MANDATORY for items to be crafted is deplorable. And they are; either you or someone else has to pay for them to be crafted. They can later be deconned to get the stone back, but real money was required to get it crafted in the first place. On top of that, mimic stones are bound on pick-up, so if a master crafter got an order for a set, they couldn't have the customer buy the mimic stones to send. They would have to pay for it out of their own pocket.

Mimic stones are the entire reason I have not bought this motif. If I could get the materials in game, even a rare chance to get them, I'd purchase it without a doubt.

I bought the motif. It's a nice looking motif and I wanted it.

As long as there are people willing to BUY GOLD FOR CASH I should always be able to find the style mat at guild traders.

Essentially I think that is the worst thing about these crown store exclusive motifs. It is an almost direct way to buy gold, legally.
