DLCs planned that we know of so far:
  • Housing (February)
  • Vvardenfell (May/June?)
  • Clockwork City (sequel to the prophecy at the end of Orsinium storyline)
  • Mephala's Realm (new Oblivion area like Coldharbour)
  • Murkmire (new monster area like Craglorn)
Here is a video of the last three on the list:

I still don't understand why the last three on the list are taking so long to release. They made a video of them so long ago, even before Orsinium. I wonder what happened to them on development to delay.

At this point I'll have to actually be playing it before I believe it really exists.

I am absolutely sure they will update the clown crates right on schedule though.

From what I understand, Murkmire was originally supposed to release a couple months ago, but then needed to be reworked along with Craglorn when the Adventure Zone concept was dropped.

I still honestly expect we'll see Clockwork City, Mephala's Realm, and Murkmire before Vvardenfell, simply because they've been in the works longer.

This ^, or they're keeping it all for a huge expansion-like update.

It is just indeed odd that we got data for Vvardenfell in the code, yet not Clockwork, Spiral Skein and Murkmire.. Especially considering all the latters was outright confirmed, and Vvardenfell never was.

I kinda doubt they're simply sitting on finished content though. I mean, I've seen that conspiracy theory before. But, if you can release something now, and get money for it... why wait six months? We're sitting in between releases, and people are already upset about the lack of playable content for two updates in a row. So, it really doesn't make sense to stick housing out there alone without also dropping a DLC to lure players back in at the same time.

The likelihood is the clips in the video were a promo/proof of concept type thing. Wouldn't have taken long to make those clips. The question then becomes did they actually the start work on the zones. The reason we've not seen them could well be because they were never made.

They were far from concepts. Those areas in the video were actually already done and ready technically. The rest of the regions around it might have not be completed at the time, as well as the voice acting, story and boss mechanics. Those take time and that'd why they haven't released yet.

They could be sitting on it to stick with their 'one DLC per quarter' schedule - saving it for when they can't churn something out for the quarter. But if that were the case then I'd have thought we'd get one of them instead of Shadows of the Hist - which leads to the question of 'why is it taking so long'? Unless they dropped development on those areas.

We MIGHT be seeing some fallout from One Tamriel - possibly the monsters, dungeons and so on have to be re-coded since (IIRC) those ares were started before universal scaling.

Ah, that is not what I meant to say, but re-reading my own words I can definitely see why it sounds like that, my apologies.

But ay, I definitely agree, there would be no reason for them to sit idly with it. It is probably unfinished, or at the least on the backburner as most of the things were from the Quakecon reveal.

At least we can safely know that they have used assets from both Murkmire, Spiral Skein and Clockwork in the Orsinium DLC, so we know that something of it is done, at least in terms of art-assets and character models, so certainly some work has been put into it.

    Vardenfell or I riot.

EDIT: Honestly, I think if they packaged all the stuff they've been sitting on with Vardenfell they could call it an expansion pack, get some fresh reviews, and revitalize their image all in one swoop.

No worries, I didn't intend for it to sound like there was any animosity. It's just that we do see people with that perception frequently, including in this thread.

They've stated that housing will be part of the base game update for update 13... So I'm fairly confident it will come with a DLC zone as well, maybe one of the smaller ones that won't be part of the main map.

I doubt it. The update is right around the corner for PTS and they haven't announced any zones yet.

since the current DLC still isnt working correctly on all platforms - maybe the delay is connected to them wanting to resolve the existing issues & release working DLC going forward..... (she types optimistically)

How it's not working? I've been playing on PS4 for the past few months just fine here.

They've not always given a big gap between announcing the DLC and releasing the update on PTS. It may just be wishful thinking on my part though.

If they don't release more playable content (sitting in a house isn't enough), then I can see more people jumping ship due to boredom.

i said working correctly on all platforms and as an xbox player who can not load wrothgar at all, and has to reset her game in order to access hews bane or the gold coast (not that i do as if i am kicked while in either map i enter a seemingly endless loop to load a character on either map) i can confirm that the existing DLC's are not working correctly accross all platforms!

Oh, that's bad. I didn't know Xbox was in such a state. Hopefully it will all be resolved on Update 13.
