What did you like about 2016 and what do you hope for 2017?

In the spirit of the holidays, lets appreciate the game as a second as a community and what you would like to see for 2017.

We all got to be honest going in from 2015 to 2016, ESO has improved dramatically from how playable the game was to all the exploits that were around, to how much content and just overhauling their game.
Even the forum staff have gone out of their way to answer more of the community questions getting involved with their members, and the developers have started connecting with their playerbase a whole lot, shout out to @ZOS_RichLambert and @ZOS_Finn

My favorite things from 2016 are:

1. Removal of Veteran Ranks.
2. Maw of Lorkhaj (great designed trial, amazing how it's this old but still so fun. Fantastic work on designing this).
3. One Tamriel for me was a huge patch, being able to see everyone brought new life into the game and seeing the population. It was especially great with the events.
4. Undaunted Plunder
5. Performance in Cyrodill is noticeably better.
6. Thieves Guild & Dark Brotherhood were perfect choices of first DLC's to come out.
7. Everything being scaled up.
8. Crown Store motivating some good decisions (race change, appearance change, name change).

What I hope to see in 2017

1. Housing - No matter what, this is going to be a defining factor of the game that many were a little disappointed at the launch it wasn't included, I feel like housing is going to bring so much for ZOS as there is many possibilities for it - I especially like the fact you can choose to craft, buy or crown store stuff for your houses.
2. A new trial will be really nice (just no mephalas realm please. Spiders are so annoying to fight, Velidreth makes up for all spider trials)
3. Battlegrounds for PvP.
4. vvardenfell! (hopefully).
5. Better way to obtain upgrade materials.

That's my lists, and I want to thank ZOS for sticking with this game. Being here from Beta (early access too) has been great to see all the changes over the year, they all happened so fast for how old the game is. It's great to see the game is in a great spot from how it used to be, completely changed it around and it's been an amazing transformation honestly.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone. I personally can't wait for the amazing additions coming in 2017.

Probably housing, because it is coming is at the top of many people's list. It is for me. There are certain things I wish for in housing, and I hope that it is more functional and less cosmetic.

The Good:
Increased performance on Cyrodiil.
Maw of Lorkhaj.
More sets.

The wish:
New trials (maybe since we have The Warrior, The Mage, and The Serpent; we could add The Lord or another mundus stone trial).
More Sets (that aren't high damage proc sets)
Better Balance (No class should be able to triple stack shields nor should a class be able to 1 shot you thanks to proc sets.
Reduction in all magicka skills for DragonKnight + helping hands gives 10%.
Flames of Oblivion becomes a Flame AoE again and Cauterize becomes a lava leeching pool ground AoE heal (or resource sapping pool would be cool too).
Mercenary style shoulders look like a spiked version of molag kena shoulders, that would be nice too

The most important:
Better performance in Cyrodiil
More class abilities, 2-3 per class skill would be awesome; A example would be having 3 skills for ardent flame, 3 for draconic power, and 3 for earthen heart.

2. all gear exists at max level now
3. duelling outside cyrodiil

What I hope for in 2017:
1. a new arena (maybe for 2/3/6/8 players) including arena weapons that alternate the 3rd skill of each weapon
2. a new trial
3. any addition to pvp that encourages / only allows small groups

One tamriel was something I had been predicting from the start it just didn't feel right I had no way to go back to home regions and not be able to enjoy content!
That was probably my favorite thing this past year as well as the nixed pet.

But I am just beyond excited for player housing it . and storage aside looks to be fantastic. That being said for content we are unaware of I would love more alliance zones.
Tanith? Vardenfell? Tenmar? Alinor? More lore, more regions! Falinesti trial? Something for AD would be my top hope. Orsinium was fantastic and I would love a new pve zone something unique and never before seen in elder scrolls.

What I like about 2016 is that greedy videogaming companies did not stop there, kept adding more P2W and gambling elements to their existing games and started charging players for games that do not exists "yet".
Which gives hope for 2017 that, by producing ever decreasing number of actual games of ever decreasing quality, they will eventually alienate enough players, bring about the Great Videogaming Industry Crash and make room for some honest devs and scam-free games.

The first semester of 2016 was okay, if a little underwhelming. The second semester was absolutely terrible.

For 2017, I hope we can get some actual content and no new F2P transition strategies introduced. I won't tempt fate by saying that 2017 couldn't possible be any worse than this last month, because I know game companies can always find a way.

The fact that my FPS only drops to like 10 when I'm in the zerg fight, as opposed to whenever two zergs hit each other across the map from me.

Yes, If the Warden class gets added I'm going to want a Warden character in each alliance.

Some people have their 12 slots already occupied. I don't think they should have to delete characters to be able to play the new class.

If they add a new class, they definitely should add more slots.

I really want more intelligent scaling in Blackwater Blade. Currently, it really advantages those who have the gold to replace their gear. I would love for all consumables to scale regardless of level and I would love for ZOS to make it so that level was scaled to max for players as long as the materials to make that armor are of the same level range as the player. I understand that ZOS wants players to replace their armor as they level, but the loss of hundreds of weapon damage has a big impact and disadvantages new players. I think fixing this scaling would make PvP much more pleasurable for new players and would translate into more players joining vet PvP.

Also, please fix dragon blood.

Also, put levels on coldfire siege so we don't have to guess when shuffling them around alts. Better yet, remove the level requirements.

I would really like to see dungeons having a chance to drop gear in Legendary - on hardmodes
hint hint @ZOS_Finn @ZOS_RichLambert would make the worthless traits not so worthless and not 100,000 gold to upgrade 1 piece of gear.

• Craftbags - Really who that has had them doesn't/didn't love them?
• @ZOS_RichLambert 's infamous comment which is often quoted out of context

What I would like to see in 2017

• Housing
• Additional storage sometime after housing...
• New DLC zone
• Removal of crown crates. I know... but a boy can dream, can't he?
• Removal of item level requirements. I know I may be alone on this one but I would like to be able to trade tradable gear with all levels. It would make it easier to find the gear you are looking for without having to worry about nobody selling it under max level.
• Most of all what I would really like to see is more communication from ZOS. More advanced notice of changes to come. It would even be nice if they included the crown prices when they do the Crown Store Showcase news articles. If personal time permits, it's also always nice to hear from ZOS as people instead of just as a business talking to it's customers.

1. Appreciation of the game in general. Tamriel is very much a pleasant place to be. The more I see of it, the more I like.
2. One Tamriel (that part which enables people to go where they want).
3. The mixture of acerbic wit, passion, honesty and helpfulness found within the forums.

2017

1. New content, i.e. a new zone or zones. Something on the scale of Orsinium. Vvardenfell would be lovely.
2. Noticeable increases in the frequency and type of communication from the Studio in general, particularly those who are able to respond to the myriad of questions raised by the player base but which remain largely unanswered.
3. More of 1-3 above.

I lived to be 74 in 2016 and hopefully I'll live to be 75 in 2017.
And yes I still play EOS.

Whether you like it or not, I'd say I like that the devs went back over the last year to really implement a lot of the "social" changes and tweaks they wanted to get into ESO. With that out of the way I am looking forward to 2017 getting back to new zones (Vvardenfell), more stories, more lore, etc.
