Question @ZOS_GinaBruno : Would it be against the TOS to sell one of these codes for in-game gold?

Yes. You can give the codes away but you may not sell them for in game gold or real money.

@ZOS_DaryaK this winners will be punished? or Guild Leaders? its knowing people in the community, everyone know them, i will not namin-shaming but still
you will ban them for that auctions?

im not a snitch i will not report them in game because im thinking its too much, this ruler must be reviewed IMO

You should either report them or not. Having a discussion about it won't do anything.

The way I look at it, and I'm purely going on the amount of bots i see in the same spots for weeks on end, if ZoS can't be bothered policing their own game even when the accounts in question have been reported dozens of times, then I'm not going to waste a second of my time policing the game for them. If they can't be bothered then why should you bother?

I support discussions about matters like this. It does not matter if I agree or disagree with it, but there is no naming and shaming or anything in OP post but concern about what is seen as non ethical business that ruins the guild for him.

I can only say that if I am not satisfied with a guild policy, I will not spend a single second there. Guilds I am in have my full support, I agree with the way they are conducted, I like the rules that some have ( like only EP players allowed or similar), and that is the sole reason I am in these guilds in the first place.

We had auctions too, but it was based more like donations to guild bank. And all the coin went into siege weaponry for PvP that we all participate in. Some of the stuff that donors got in return were just a way for the guild to show them that we care about what they did for all of us.

Also, whoever take a loan from the bank returns it back with at least few coins more that he took in the first place. It is not mandatory, but that is how we like to do stuff. I guess there will be quite a few withdraws from bank when housing goes live, lol.

There a codes for individual crown store items?

How can you get them (officially)? Are they from events or promos or something?

In any case, I think in the EU there is a statutory right to sell/resell things (with some exceptions) though - so it would be interesting to know if that conflicts with the ZOS TOS... although presumably if it's organised inside the game, ZOS is allowed to prevent it. If it's organised outside the game... they probably wouldn't know anyway.

These are codes for items that don't appear in the crown store and are usually given out by ZOS during events such E3, TwitchCon or QuakeCon.

@EnviousStruggle If witnessing said things is enough to make you question whether or not they are bannable offenses, then you should either ignore them or report them. There's no in-between. A ZOS employee could read this and consider you an accessory, a person of interest. You already are a "snitch", be the kind of person that does good by the community and the game, instead of speaking hypothetically.

The codes she was specifically commenting on where that quote was taken were the Imperial Digital Upgrade pack codes. Maybe the rule applies to all codes or maybe just Imperial/Explorers codes.

    Personally though...

I see guild auctions and raffles as donations and let's be honest that's what they are. How many times have you seen really good deals? Usually the items get over bid on because we know or believe the gold is going to a good cause(our trader).

Also, has the item ever been successfully won? Often times there are far too few people participating in the auctions and the person who donated the items will be the same person who "wins" with the highest bid. These are also usually the same people who win raffles because it's usually only a handful of people who spend time and effort to keep the guild afloat.

They can't seem to even stop the gold for cash websites from spamming in area chat and email and you expect that they will research and enforce this?

If it's bought with real money and sold for in game gold, that would be bannable for gold selling. If it's a FREE code for something NOT PURCHASED, it can't be considered gold selling.

Stop, just stop. Ask yourself, and be honest, what are you hoping to accomplish with this thread, and by tagging one of the forum mods? Surely you must know that they only have authority over forum activities, not in game actions or policies. The above comment from her is just paying lip service to the ToS, she can't take any action outside of these forums, and her opinion on the policy honestly does not matter, to us, or to the bosses at Zeni.

Stop with this passive aggressive "I'm not a snitch, but I'm snitching so please pay attention and do something about this" bs.
