Immature in the extreme, but having mud ball fights whilst waiting for boss spawns in the likes of Crow's Wood etc is a hoot. As is pelting people that are obviously posing on their new shiny mounts, with their new crown store purchased outfit etc. Sure beats people spamming their illumination skills and requesting duels every 2 mins in large hubs.

Some jackasses were trolling me yesterday with thay mudball. I was trying to dye my armor and there was a constant mud look on me. Turned around and saw two people crouched behind some boxes. I assumed they were just snickering about it but damn I was heated.

LOL I don't think I can be trusted with this type of info :p

Yeah there were some people in Stormhaven that thought this was a good use of their time the other night, I sat there for about 5 minutes just watching them hurl mudballs from behind the fencing while everyone was trying to dye their armor.

It's not like that towel is easy to pick a color for, then those knobs were covering it with mud. I denied them their fun and left.

The mudball memento is what I use on skill spammers at WS and duelers at Undaunted Refuges who are making it impossible to move around or log in. Better than the smoke bomb I was using.

Though I don't mudball others outside the limited mudball questing area, I don't have a big problem with its intrusiveness because I view it as simply part of the festival. I can even chuckle about it - during the festival. If it continues after the festival I will be pissed. It is waaayyy too intrusive/irritating/invasive to continue outside the window of the festival.

I confess that I play ESO because, unlike TES I - V, it opens up all of Tamriel to explore. The fact that it is multiplayer is (on balance) a drawback to me that I can deal with - to a point.

Funny thing is, I had valkyn skoria 2 piece on and hallowjack chest(heavy) every time I was hit, it's like someone turned the lights off, all orange glows stopped.

I've noticed all the people who stealth mudball randoms tend to run away crying when you catch them and throw mudballs to THEIR face repeatedly.

The smoke bomb's aim and range are actually even better. It's damned near only limited by LoS, about 90 yard range I'd guess. It's aim works a little bit different, it'll hit whatever happens to be in your crosshairs when you press it, no delay.
