One mitigating factor is that you only have to kill the animals once per character. Once you get the achievement for doing both donating and killing, there's no point in killing any more--just hand over some gold to complete the quest.
I'm planning on just donating gold now, and do the killing a week or two from now for the achievement completion.

Only for the Altmer quest, though. The Orc one needs you to kill the wasps and wolves every time

Yea, that's true. But at least for the wolves and wasps, any of the ones on the island will do (even though the quest marker only gives you two small circles), but the Grahtwood one is geographically-limited and harder to do, IME.
