it does if youre just after catching anything. If youre after master angler you need to collect certain fish. To do this, certain fish only spawn in certain areas when using certain bait. Theres a lot of info on google about it as a few helpful people have defined what bait is needed and where

Any true fisherman uses destro ulti nowadays. Fish just drop dead. Just don't use ice or shock staff if you are standing in water.

Firstly you must become the fish yes. Think like the Salmon, move like the Viperfish, speak as the Preposterous Mackerel.

Know that your fish it knows you yes. Understand the battle. Be at one with your bait. Mirror the Shad.

Follow the cold waters where they lead you. Flow with them to you destination. Do not resist. Unless they take you towards Slaughterfish and then yes it is time to resist.

Then when you have ended the battle and conquered both yourself and the Pikeblenny it is time to go and get drunk at The Rosy Lion.

you need to wait until your line starts bobbing and then reel it in.

Make sure you're fishing in the right spots as well. You can only catch holiday fish from the spawning holes. They'll be in quest circles.
