Make the XP Keg a Memento

Would be nice to make the XP keg next to Breda into a trophy item like the Witchmother's Brew item, just so the lag goes away...

Right now we have the whole server squashed into one spot all trying to grab the XP buff, every two hours for the next couple weeks, which means tons of lag for those people already getting lagged out. Some people can't even log into game right now with all the stress on server.

ZOS want to help us out here and make this XP buff a trophy item? Summon a keg just like Breda's one.

Nobody else want the XP buff made into a summonable keg memento?

Even a memento is a bit clunky. I'd suggest just having it be a permanent buff that persists through death when you interact with the keg. If you don't want the buff for some reason, you can deactivate it. That way, each toon just puts the buff on once during the event and it just stays until the event is over. Why have a 2 hour duration to begin with?

You wouldn't want to be able to spawn a keg whenever you wanted for the rest of the game?

Obviously after event ended it would have no xp buff, but being able to summon a party keg seems like a good deal.

Me personally? I don't care much about mementos. I could see how some people might like that though.

Not only would it be a nice memento item, but it would reduce the strain on server and need for basically everyone to pile on Breda's keg every two hours for the next few weeks.

What I can't figure out, ever since the 2 year anniversary, is why the XP buff had to expire to begin with, when it's made available to the user non-stop for the entire event. I think we should just be able to eat cake or drink cauldron juice, or have a pull on breda's keg once, and be done with it, unless we chose to go the character page to turn it off for one reason or another. As it now stands, I could choose to do all-nighters for three days in a row, and faithfully re-do the buff every 2 hours, because I'm entitled to it as part of the goodies that ZOS has provided to us for this festival. But why? What reason would ZOS have had in designing it that way in the first place? I can't imagine that they're getting anything from it, no additional revenue, or game exposure or anything like that. Plus, we can also lose out on the perk if it expires, and we don't notice for the next, say 45 minutes. It didn't happen to me so much with hallowjack because of the great Mr. Death shape-shift, but it happened frequently to me during the anniversary with no audio or visual queue that I can recall.

Why not just make it 100% double exp up time? Does it cause that much strain on the servers or that much coding do make it permanent for the duration of said event?

Example where this would be helpful. A returning player comes back with no knowledge of the event and sees that his/her exp gain is tremendous. Asks guild or zone why and gets a response that X event is in effect for next 2 weeks. Player is intrigued and starts a new toon and regains interest in the game. BOOM PROFIT ZENIMAX! Another fish back on the hook. Honestly, I think whoever comes up with the 2hr duration is trolling and likes to watch others suffer.

EDIT: to add on, why not add an increased duration exp boost to the crown store like a 4, 6, or 12 hour buff ?

Sounds good to me. Then after the event my characters can have a drink whenever they want.

If the xp buff was a memento then I would prefer it was up all the time. Summoning a memento to drink doesn't add anything exciting to me.
Having the keg at a stationary location makes me travel Tamriel more, which I like. I prefer this option more so than summoning a memento or just having the buff by default all the time which is just lazy design.

Are there kegs in more locations than next to Breda? If it wasn't made a memento, having little party stalls with the xp keg scattered all over Tamriel would be cool. Could then get an achievement for visiting all the kegs.

They should have Brenda or who ever at multiple locations, one for each alliance. Then the load would be spread out more.

ALL ZOS has to do is LENGTHEN the duration of the boost to make it last the whole event. If you at some point decide not to want it, just right click on it and it disappears. Want it again? Drink from the keg. By far the easiest solution!!

Maybe even a buff that's lasting for the whole time the event is on. But the fact that we have to go back over and over and over and over again to get each quest which pisses me off. Why not get all nine quests at the same time and go to each different location and then go back to Breda.

This back and forth stuff is just plan stupid.

yeah it doesnt for some odd reason. Wanted to wear it while doing the ol' dolmen grind for 'nostalgia' reasons lol

Convenience doesn't always equal laziness. There are no benefits from making us port to the keg every two hours other than creating a chokepoint at the festival tent, which can be useful for devs as lag testing grounds. But for the players? No benefit whatsoever. You don't actually "travel Tamriel more", you port to the same location every time, run 20 steps and port back. It's not a fun or enlightening activity.

Keeping the buff active throughout the festival removes a layer of annoyance and makes the event more pleasant for, I'd wager, 99% of the playerbase.
Making the keg summonable is also quite convenient and has the added benefit of being usable after the festival, which roleplayers would appreciate.

The Witchmother's Brew memento isn't bugged, why would Breda's Keg memento be bugged?

Also it would reduce the lag and stress on the server if we could summon the buff item to us rather than have to go to exact same spot on server every two hours. That sounds like less bugs to me.

Just remember when they make this a cash shop item it was because you and people like you didn't speak up now.

I'll be buying it regardless, money is not a problem for me.

In all likelihood the team that may create the code for making it a momento are not likely to be the same team that debugs code.
