Frostcaster Motif only has 5 Mimic Stones?

Oh, I thought it was a forecaster motif.

At least when looking for a representative image of a weather forecaster I found this lady doing what I'm pretty sure is the male Khajiit dance.

I'm curious, how will this affect what you craft for people? Prices? Ask for gold up front? I honestly hate this idea of crafting this style for gold because it's almost like buying gold.

There was backlash when we datamined the first two Crown Store Exclusive motifs. ZOS solution seems to have been to provide a good deal for the first Crown Store Exclusive motif (Skinchanger) to avoid as much initial backlash as possible and then slowly worsen the deal.

It wouldn't surprise me if what you see now is the "finalized" price, with perhaps a 500 Crown increase in the future.

First crown store motif was Grim Harlequin. Skinchanger is the new life festival motif from the gifts.

The way I would retain my sanity would be to only make pieces of Grim Harlequin with style materials I bought from others in guild traders. I'd buy them for like 8k and then sell them for 10k plus the typical 3k cost per piece.

One time a person wanted more pieces than I had grinstones, so he offered to pay 20k per personal mimic stone. I was ok with that because I was proud of the armor I was making. :P

It is an awkward thing though. I'm anticipating for there to be less style material available on traders, or, at least, they're going to be priced higher with the low supply of mimic stones.

I purchased it, because I had already saved up the crowns for it & had the mimic stones from Grim Harlequin. Won't do it again in the future. I don't care what kind of style they come up with next, it won't be worth it. It's complete BS, especially considering most people won't bother remaking their GOLD gear over and over and over as "fashion" changes. Give us a way to change the style of our current gear and maybe we'll have a reason to spend money on this crap in the future

Exactly. We need and option to change styles without having to craft everything again.

Don't everyone go using those whopping 5 stones at once. Not even enough to make an entire set if you so wish to make one. Correct me if I'm wrong but i count 7 needed to even make a full set.

This is even ignoring the stones needed to make weapons. We should have at least got 10 stones. AT LEAST.

Complete con and forces people to fork out extra so no, they haven't been priced accordingly because you still need more stones than you're given. Whilst the motifs appears to be cheaper than the last one, it's actually more expensive. As others have stated at least with glass etc, you can get more mats in-game. With the Grim Harlequin at least you had enough to make a full set and extra.

The fairest way to look at this deal is to assume the person buying it hasn't yet bought mimic stones.

You took 200 crowns off the sale price of a motif... because you chose to not include almost 1800 (ON SALE) crowns worth of stones from the bundle?

Another great point people have made is that we can actually get the other style stones in the game...

I'll be buying it as I have extra stones from Grimm, but it's just weird.

They knew having Crown store exclusive motifs was gonna get people in an uproar, so they sweetened the deal by adding a bunch of mimic stones to the 1st one, that took most of the barb out of the sting.

Then they removed the mimic stones as well, and cut a pittance off the price.

Pretty much no matter what we do, ZOS will keep dumping these rip-off deals on us. Expensive motifs that don't even come with the crafting materials to make them, Crown Crates that no one wants. It' already started, and I doubt it's gonna stop anytime soon, most likely we've just seen the tip of the iceberg.

I don't really care for the skinchanger motif but I like the frost one, especially as I make my poor 2nd magblade use frost weaponry.

Having a hard time seeing why I should buy the motif to begin with. Sure, it looks cool, but outside of crafted sets I can count on one hand... crafting gear is almost pointless right now.

And this doesn't come with enough materials to make one full set? I have to spend even more money to actually craft the motif I just bought with crowns? No thanks.

While I appreciate that you looked into this for us, it seems a bit unbalanced. The precedent was set with the Halloween motif when you provided a good number of mimic stones. That seemed reasonable as you cant get that style material in the wild and, with a few reservations, we were happy to buy it.. Adjusting the new motif's price to reflect a lower number of mimic stones is fine, except that pricing just doesn't square up against the Halloween one.

Given the scarcity of style mats for crown store motifs, it only seems fair that you would at least be provided with enough to create a full set for yourself before being pushed back to the cash shop.

Exactly. I was interested in buying this motif (whereas the Grimm one didn't appeal to me), but I was operating under the assumption that enough stones would come with it to be able to actually make some sets. But since I don't have any mimic stones already on me, I'd have to shell out another 1800 crowns just to be able to make even ONE full set of armor and weapons. Which makes this set almost TWICE as expensive as the Grimm set.

Concur with pretty much everyone on this thread. When crown store motifs were introduced I said, no way man eff that. But, ofc they put something in that looks amazing, my husband and I kinda drooled over it the last couple weeks and I thought I would take my sub allowance and buy it. Id have to buy a cheap pack of crowns to finish it off but hey that's only 8 bucks no biggie.

Until I saw this thread, ty for that. Not even enough mimic stones to make a nice new shiny set? So you want me to spend money for the motif.. then you want me to spend more money immediately to even make a full set for myself... huh? Just no ZoS, no. Your greed is consuming you and it will cost you in the end. Im all for you makin money, Im not for you nickle and diming my ass when Ive been here since beta, subbing and buying crowns and supporting this game I love. And that goes for every other paying customer you have. You need to do right by your people and stop trying to push us away.

Bought it! I am glad I got the grim harlequin as well for the stones. If you dont want to buy/use mimic stones then don't buy the motif.

While the motif is priced accordingly to other motifs in the crown store, the other motifs are not similar to this one, as we CAN acquire the style materials in game, to make the motif, we cannot with this one, are you going to put the drop in the game on a permanent basis? Once the event is over we can no longer farm the style material.

Getting 54 mimic stones made the Grim Harlequin motif a decent value. This motif is pretty much just there to convince you to buy more stones or buy crates (which have a pitiful mimic stone drop rate).

They're definitely seeing if people are willing to spend on CS exclusive motifs with the least bang for your buck. On the plus side, all future such motifs won't go lower in terms of the number of stones! On the down side, the next thing they'll do is start raising the price.

It's comments like this that completely miss the point. We're not ***, we know we don't need to buy anything in the crown store, we know no one is forcing us to buy this fluff, we're merely pointing out the ever evolving gouging tactics imposed. If you start to shrug your shoulders at one gouge then you've little scope to complain in future when they turn their gouging up a notch or two. Which all devs do and ZoS themselves have done over recent weeks

The decent thing to do is to at least allow people to make a full set of gear with enough stones to make 4 weapons on top of that.

I don't see that as the case at all. I was happy to buy the grim harlequin motif that came with 54 stones because I could actually make a FULL SET and then some with out having to shell out for more.
