Anka-Ra's _______ priest is alive then suddenly dead

So this has happened to me at a few of the Anka-Ra's world boss locations. I go in, call in other people (and the star gazer is alive) then after a while with people coming in then leaving I go out and then turn around. The hazy feature when he is alive suddenly goes away and when I walk back in he is lying there dead.

Nope, and no one else does either. I think that it is a bug for me as I walk in and he is standing there and I get the icon to talk to him but wait for others as I am unable to do it solo but when no one comes I go gather some resources just outside the area and as soon as I leave the hazy bubble around the area disappears.

I've seen that too, and when I asked around I was told that if someone enters the area it sets sort of a trigger, and if the person leaves the area the guy just dies. I'm not sure if there's also a timer that will eventually go off if the first person stays there, but leaving the area seems to be a bad idea.

I can confirm that this happened to me as well. I saw he was up, posted in zone chat, turned around to harvest an alchemy node, and when I looked back he was dead and had to wait for him to respawn again.
