How many just don't care about cosmetic items?

I for one couldn't care less about different outfits, emotes and re-skinned mounts. I was lucky I suppose and played since launch and have the striped senche. If I hadn't played since launch I would be just as happy with a generic 10k horse.
I subscribe to this day simply for the crafting bag and have many thousands of crowns that will probably never be spent.

Any others on board with this mind set?

Cosmetics are half the game for me. This is coming from someone who has been in dueling tournements, full pvp raids, and top tier trials guilds; The game has almost no skill to it now and Roleplay and cosmetics are 50% of why I play this game still.

Well I suppose I am in the minority and just enjoy playing the game.
As a caveat as @Kova said I suppose if you're into roleplay then I guess it makes a difference I have just never been into that side of online gaming.

I love mounts! And only buy the costumes bc drop gear is so ugly. If we could change the way our drop gear sets looks I would never buy the costumes but if a cool looking mount comes out I just can't help myself lol

I really don't give a [insert your favorite word here] about cosmetic items. But occasionally I see something nice in the crownstore (like the mind shriven skin and horse) which I buy from my crowns I earn for being a subber.

But overall, new mounts and costumes don't have my interest. Neither do pets since I mostly PvP and they don't work in Cyrodill and also emotes and stuff should be free.

I am immune for gamble boxes even if there was a skin I would like to have. I would have bought it for crowns in crownstore but no trying to get it from the boxes.

If you're gonna ask a question like this you need to add a poll. Something like
    1. I don't care
    2. I live for appearance items
    3. Depends on the item

If you're playing in 3rd-person view (which you should be), you'll be staring at your character the whole time as you play the game's content. After enough hours of this, you'll start to care about how your character looks.

I can sometimes be a bit picky about which styles for crafted gear - but stats trumps looks - if the set I want come in a style I don't like, then I'll still wear it. But I certainly don't care enough about cosmetic items to spend crowns on them.

Cosmetic stuff is really cool to me especially from playing other Elder Scrolls games. At the pinnacle of Skyrim and Oblivion your character would be so OP that it would hardly matter anymore what kind of equipment you wore. Also, the progression and look of your armor in other Elder Scrolls games was pretty cool.

Yep I'm really not too fussed about cosmetics at all. I have bought a bear mount as it was on sale and it cracks me up and I treated myself to the pact horse for PvP but otherwise really not fussed.

If you ain't after the rare mounts the crown crates actually give a good ROI on other stuff. For my 1500 'punt' pack I got 4 riding lesson packs, perfect for my Alts I think the disappointment is the people.after apex cosmetic stuff

I only care about the CS and cosmetics when I'm drunk. I have bought so much shite on the CS when drunk that when I'm sober I think to myself, I really should lay off the drink. What seems like a neat idea at the time usually turns into a WTF moment the next day. A bit similar to that female who looked on par with a super model the night before, but had more facial hair than I did come the morning. Those crowns are only ever from my sub and if they're on sale. Props to those who think 5500cr are worth £25 and by extension, a single motif or mount. £14 is about the right price for 5500crs.

I actually have stocked so many cosmetics, I don't even know what to do with them now lol. But anywhere you go, if you go without a costume, you aren't cool. You can show off that Dro-m'Antra style or that Celestial one, but a wizard in a hat with goggles and a pirate costume is just so priceless.

I have little or no interest in cosmetic items. Mounts are a waste of time as I only end up dismounting and remounting every single time I pass a harvest node, and I like to see my adventuring gear rather than some fancy costume.

I'm semi into the cosmetics. I've bought way more than I need because I get drunk and stupid every now and then. However I only put on my wedding dress for giggles while we farm or grind some spot for some reason.

The only pet I really like is my monkey from the beta testing - only used on one character but never in pledges and trials.

I don't regret some of the rides I've bought but my favorite is regular horse - I like the two black ones the best.

Now because nearly all the best gear is dropped and BoP all my knowledge in crafting and every style I know is kinda wasted. So this is the cosmetics part I must say I really care about. I would like a better system to dress up my characters either it be restyle of armor or a cosmetic layer were you can put anything over the armor.

I spent so long earning my first 42k for the black horse that it still feels like an achievement for me. I named him Fang since I also spent so long contracting vampirism due to my stubborn refusal to be bitten by another player. Still a vamp too, don't think I will ever cure it now.

Personally I believe the cosmetics are geared toward female players. It's a brilliant marketing strategy and I love that my wife has yet to fall for it. "It's really pretty, but not worth $20."

I enjoy cosmetics, especially those included in the base game or with a monthly sub. I have an extremely low threshold for how much I'll buy piece by piece for crowns. I have a frost mare and wedding suit that I bought quite some time ago and that's about it. Great for those that enjoy that sort of thing, but I'm just not into buying pixel pretty for more than I paid for the game.

I am the complete opposite. I couldn't care less about class balance, broken skills, PvP, lag in PvP, P2W etc. I play the game to be immersed in it and for the stories etc. So the look of a character is of supreme importance to me.

    2. I live for appearance items

    Yep, sounds like me.
Just so that everyone knows, my Altmer still can't have black hair. About a dozen of Altmer NPCs in the game have black hair. Just saying.

    Meet my characters:
    Command: Do the thing.

Zadarri, Khajiit Fist of Thalmor: The thing was done, as commanded.
Durza gra-Maghul, Orc blacksmith: The thing was done perfectly, in the most efficient way.
Tegwen, Bosmer troublemaker: You can't prove I didn't do the thing.
Sings-Many-Songs, Argonian fisher: Sure, I'll do the thing... Eventually. Maybe.
Aerindel, Altmer stormcaller: After extensive research, I've come to the conclusion that doing the thing would be a waste of resources.
Liliel, Dunmer pyromancer: Aerindel said I shouldn't do the thing. Something about "resources".
Gyda Snowcaller, Nord cryomancer: I will find a way to do it that won't waste resources and make Aerindel proud of me.
Beatrice Leoriane, Breton vampire: I persuaded someone else into doing the thing. You are welcome, dear.
Sahima, Redguard performer: Doing the thing sounds awfully unpleasant and really not my problem.
Ellaria Valerius, Imperial priestess: I'll pray to the Eight for the thing to be done, if it is Their will.

I do care more about appearance then about the bonusses the new sets might give.

I personally don't really like most of the customes that much all of them seem to have always something about them that makes me go eeeeww (well not all but most though).

So i'm still in mostly crafted armor besides my tank i don't mind the look of the ebon chest at all.
I wish we could hide the shoulders like we can the helmets and also the weird flaps on the waists.

tldr: I definetly care for the amount of time i'm in this game my toons better look good :)

I used to not care about cosmetic items. Sure, I liked my armor to look good, but it wasn't a huge concern. Nothing could be dyed then, and drop sets sometimes looked terrible with my crafted gear, but whatever. If I got tired of how I looked, I slotted the shadowsilk gem and rolled as a goblin for a while. I had my brown horse bought with gold early on, and later had my striped senche. Then the crown store launched, and I couldn't imagine spending actual money on things that didn't affect my game play. I only left Cyrodiil to farm more herbs for potions, only PvP mattered.

After 1.6 I grew less and less enamoured with ESO PvP, and started spending more and more time in the outer maps. I started doing a lot of pledges and trials, and was spending around 50% of my play time in Cyro. It turns out, when I'm not in battle, I spend much more time looking at my toons. And caring about how they look. And I had subscriber crowns to burn. So I bought a dress. Then a suit. Then a mount. And another mount.

I spent most of my sub crowns on riding lessons for alts, and on respec scrolls, but my spending on cosmetic items increased with the amount of time I spent in pve. Since the proc-patch, I only PvP once or twice a week, and for short periods. In that time I have blown all my crowns on cosmetic items (and even a few crates).

Tl;Dr - I am a Zeni execs wet dream of a customer. They effectively deterred me from playing, or complaining about PvP, now I only care about adventure zones and cosmetic items.

I don't have to care too much about cosmetics, because everyone I play with seems to care a *lot*.
