Subscription cards

Have subscription cards been discontinued? I hate to use my credit card - or even paypal - for anything online - especially when the information is stored on a server that can be hacked.

But I can't seem to find subscription cards anymore. Have they been discontinued?

For PC....haven't seen them in over a year just before crowns were added and the mandatory sub was dropped.

I know some that have bought them online. Unsure where.

But they don't want to use PayPal or a credit card online at all so that defeats their desires. They aren't asking for a deal, they want to go buy without using online payments

G2A, G2PLAY, Amazon and many others had plenty in stock pre One Tam patch, I know I bought a 60 day from G2A, but since One Tam they have all disappeared, coincidentlly around the same time too.

My only guess is it is a move by ZoS themselves who have withdrawn them.

As an alternative, you can get a prepaid debit card and refill it. Then if a hack occurs, its not a huge loss.

I'm from Brazil and I'm really sad that I can't buy subscription cards from Kinguin anymore. They much more affordable for us ~50% cheaper than paying the full subscription from the website or from steam. I hope they come back soon.

I don't necessarily object to online payments, I OBJECT to having my credit card information STORED - which is what they do for reoccurring subscriptions and there is no way to do one off payments. It's either subscribe - and have your payment information stored - or don't.

So I guess it will be.... DON'T.

Thanks Zenimax... for hating your customers! I can't tell you how much we appreciate the lack of options!

I think its you and not the company. The majority of the world does business this way and has done business this way for over 25 years. Its time to grow up and apply for a credit card and not use a debit card or pre-paid.

Sorry if that comes off rude but you're last comment attacking ZOS is not appropriate for your own personal choices which don't align with business norms.

It's not rude... just foolish and naive.

First... you are putting forth a false premise. The "majority" of the world DOESN'T do business that way. Only a small fraction of online businesses have subscriptions. The majority of ecommerce shops give the option to store credit card information for later - I know, having set hundreds of ecommerce sites for clients. Otherwise, it's processed by the payment processor and then it is removed from the system. So your premise is flawed and incorrect.

Second... unless you live in a college "safe zone" or have your head buried under a rock, you can't help but see all of the hacking going on in the world. I'm a computer professional, so I deal with this all the time. I KNOW how vulnerable systems are. And the human element adds an incalculable risk.

    Here are some recent examples:

Latest example - San Francisco Rail System hacked. Sure, it's probably someone stupid who open up the wrong attachment and compromised the system with ransomware, but whose to say that couldn't happen at Zenimax.

Biggest example - The complete hack and ownage of the Hillary Clinton email server. Whether you think she actually had classified information on the server or not (of course she did, duh), the fact remains, she was hacked and the emails released.

Biggest loser example - Yahoo was hacked and had 500 million (at least that's the number they're reporting) email compromised. Not only that, but they didn't release this fact for quite a while. Businesses have a HUGE financial interest in keeping hacks private.
Government example - The Pentagon was hacked by a teenager and as many as 1500 computers were compromised in the DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE - who I'm guessing have better security than Zenimax.

I could go on for pages and pages with examples.

In the end, I could care less about what "the majority of the world" does... if they do it wrong. Having no option for a one off payment is both unprofessional and insecure. Keeping financial information (address and credit card information) is a BIG risk - and one I don't care to engage in.

Feel free to cite any REAL computer security expert who has stated otherwise.

Lastly... the whole immature comment about "Its time to grow up and apply for a credit card and not use a debit card or pre-paid." means you obvious didn't even take the time to read my original post, which stated

"I hate to use my credit card - or even paypal - for anything online - especially when the information is stored on a server that can be hacked."

Next time, read the whole post before trying to be clever.
