How good is flawless dawn breaker? Is it for stam builds

Depends on what you are doing. Pure single target on a long fight, I think Rend is your answer. If you casting at a bunch of adds, Thrive on Chaos will hit harder.

Flawless Dawnbreaker is great for passive weapon damage, but I dont think this skill is as good as it used to be now that we have other options. Dawnbreaker of Smiting is also really powerful, as it hits harder than flawless and knocks down enemies. This is supper effective in VMA and PVP.

I see a lot of top PvE DPS going for Rend (Dual Wield ultimate) now. When Flawless Dawnbreaker was only 100 ult it was almost certainly the best. But the cost increase to 125 was essentially a DPS nerf since you cannot have it up as much during a fight. Rend is not much more expensive at 150 ultimate and the 16-second duration is impressive. I have not done any side-by-side tests myself but people I usually trust to know what they are doing are switching to Rend. I would be most concerned by the 8% loss to weapon damage stat from not having Flawless slotted. Your entire rotation will hit a little less hard because of that. So Rend not only has to outperform Flawless Dawnbreaker itself, but outperform by enough to make up for the DPS loss of everything else due to 8% less weapon damage stat.

Yeah, I just checked it out on my StamBlade: Rend definitely seems to be a better choice due to the powerful DoT over 16 secs, that gets further empowered after vMSA DW Rapid Strikes. So I guess that would make up for the loss in Weapon Damage

Man everyone said Rend.

In certain situations it's very very good.

But thrive in chaos makes me foam from the mouth in VMA with the extra 30% increase to damage.

Very situational these decisions are.

Smiting > Flawless, in my opinion.

Both have their place in PvP. Dawnbreaker has an incredible mass CC potential, making it invaluable for group vs group combat. Rend's heal component will do nothing for your group.

Dawnbreaker has an upfront damage component that can be combined for burst whereas Rend is only effective over time.

I usually slot Rend on main bar and Dawnbreaker on back bar.
