Oh Bummer!!! Dungeons no longer scale to crown.

I have a special needs autistic spectrum son I would sometimes play ESO with. He liked doing the dungeons but has a low level toon and because of his quirky game play and social skills a group thing is not for him or the others. We would make him crown and I could handle the dungeon myself on my higher level toon. I guess since T1 this changed. My son and I tried to do a dungeon this weekend and it was too much for the two of us on normal. Well as you might guess with the impatience of my autistic son he quickly gave up and quit and doesn't want to play this anymore. Bummer...

I love this hobby game and actively played since dec 2015 with over 2k hours. Just a little disappointed with losing the dungeon crown scaling thingy that provided me and my son some quality together time.

I just needed to share. Thanks for understanding.

yeah, with 1T, Dungeons are now fixed level and everyone is scaled to it ..... although with lower levels they have less abilities they can slot, if u are on pc/NA server if u 2 ever need help with a dungeon I can lend a hand

    That is unfortunate.

Perhaps it could be suggested to ZoS to add in a "Scale to Crown" option in the party options menu when forming a dungeon, perhaps limited only to normal dungeons?

I'm not sure they would go for it, but that's my suggestion. I'm sorry you lost this hobby with your son. Perhaps there is another MMO you could try to interest him in? I think World of Warcraft doesn't scale their normal dungeons. I don't know about Guild Wars 2 or Star Wars or any of the others.

I am sure your situation is echoed by other players on your platform/server

maybe you could create a guild.
invite other child/parent/sibling/guardian/grandparent duo's who are looking for like minded people to casually run a normal dungeon with
or people who would be happy to be the 3rd/4th person in the group so you you & your son can have a little extra support to play your way

Public dungeons as well. They got a boost so not hard for a well built character they can still be fun. Lots of mobs quickly spawning.

Not to be this guy but you can't solo a normal dungeon with over 2k hours?

Get a solid build and just heal your son while DPS. Like Templar, spam jabs, shards, use springs and healing ward to keep your son up.
Have a taunt on your bar for the main bosses. Totally doable but you'll have to put a bit off effort in.

Or a sorc pet build would works well.

Also make sure your son has food on at the very least...
