Help with stam DK sets

Skooma_Merchant
So I've been experimenting quite a bit with new sets and old alike since this last update. Prior to update I was running 5pc Viper, 5pc Druegh King. Massive weapon damage and fairly tanky, and with critical rush combined with a woven heavy attack and viper I could pretty much insta-kill anyone not tanky. But now it seems that set is somewhat less optimal so I swapped out of DKS and 2hander, and went to dual wield red mountain. This is my current PvE and PvP set-up. Dual wield m/a red mountain, 2 piece selenes, 3 piece red mountain armor, 2 piece viper armor, 3 viper accessories. All divines. It's nasty but I'm not sure about weapon set up and monster set for pvp. PvE I'm not worried about, I only really do undaunted and normal trials currently. But for pvp, I'd like some opinions. Should I give up Selenes set and swap to 2hander and basically run 5 red mountain 2hand, 5 viper, and 1 random monster piece for 1 set (probably kena for damage), or do you think having selene's proc is better? Dual wield pvp damage is strong but not as bursty, and I lose a huge gap closer and execute. On this note too, I play mostly xbox now, so I don't have ability to track damage via add ons. Can red mountain, viper, and selenes all proc at same time or do they share CD? Thanks guys!

I was running Red Mountain, Veligreth, and the heavy armor Fire set and they all proc'd at the same time in a pve mob fight once. Best damage that Templar tank ever did lol.

    But for DK pvp, hmm.

If you're going to go for sustain and not try to burst down your opponent that monster set from the Coldharbor group dungeon might work as long as you can keep them in the danger zone. Skoria might be a good choice given it procs off of damage over time which some of your 2W abilities are.

You could use chains for a gap closer but it isn't great for a stam build. Dragon Leap would be your other gap closer and good burst damage too.

There is a set from Blessed Crucible that adds damage to your 2W skills combine that with the gear for penetration and your best damage monster set and you might have a good set. Hard to say though. All I can say is to try it and see.

I was using Skoria for the longest time, but then swapped to selene's bc it scales off stamina. Selene's hits for 16k pve and procs very often. But it can be avoided in pvp. I use dragon leap on my bow bar currently, dawnbreaker on dual wield (primary). Don't get me wrong, when I bring my dual wield into duals or cyrodiil, I can kill most people VERY fast, but I lack that gap closer and I'm on the squishy side. That's why I'm thinking of swapping to 2hand pvp for the heal from rally, gap closer, and more bursty. But I would have to sacrifice selenes. I dueled a NB the other day and he got hit by selenes once, and it took about half his health, and then he dodged it once. It's slower than Skoria but faster than vels.

Also, thanks for the confirmation. I was pretty sure I've seen them proc before, at least selene's and viper together but wasn't sure about red mount and viper.

My Stamblade runs Veligreth with 2H with Hundings Rage and Agility and hits like a truck and when Vel procs hits like a train. Its a nice burst set up, but once its out of stam its game over.

I only tank with my Stam DK. I have a mDK which although squishy has held its own in some 1v1's and 1v2's.

But 2H is a hard one to give up because of the buff you get from rally (healing and damage bonus).

Maybe run 2H on one bar and 2W on the other if you don't mind losing a good ranged dps backup.

I was running dual wield and shield on back bar. Was ok but losing poison arrow sucks. I might give it a go, but I still would lose red mountain proc on back bar.
