Hello everyone!

The free weekend seems to bring many new people to the game, which is great, because the future of ESO and of our enjoyment of it relies on the perpetuation of a substantial playerbase, which is a key ingredient to ZOS' financial health.

But the newcomers will not stay in the game if they have a bad experience of it, and we as a community, have a responsibility in that matter. I helped a low-level player yesterday with a world boss, and he told me that everyone was ignoring him earlier, which he suspected was because he was at a low level. I do not know whether he was one of the newcomers attracted by the free weekend, but I guess that feeling ignored or despised will not help keep the beginners hooked into the game.

I do not know whether it was just a particular and unfortunate example, or whether it is part of a more general trend, though. I hope it was the former.

Let's be a bit welcoming and courteous: the entire playerbase will benefit from it. :-)

[Unless you roleplay as a very unpolite character, but then make sure the interlocutor understands you're roleplaying  ]

I help new inexperience players all the time, sadly some exp players are just elitists that think everyone should be of the same game knowledge they have.

I gave a vamp bite to a newcomer yesterday. They were so grateful afterwards

Well-loved and worn comfortably? Seems fair.

Its actually much better helping the low leveled players now with 1T. It doesn't feel like overkill for a 600 cp dps to help on a boss or dolmen fight if you happened to be in the lvl 5-15 world zones.

Solo PvP and PvE most of the time.

Those experienced players that treat newcomers like they're dirt on the bottom of their boots, really need to wind that superiority complex in. I can only assume people like that are on the receiving end of it in the real world so make themselves feel better by hiding behind a bunch of pixels and anonymity when giving it out to others.

The cost of helping a newbie, a moment of your time. The reaction of newbies to their first dolmen, priceless.

TBH your kind of preaching to the choir

the long established players or 'original gangsters' (as we are for some reason reffered to by newbies) do help, we all go out of our way to help & be friendly ALL of the time

we are the people who even take notice of posts like this

the people you want to get your message across to are far too busy stood around starter islands, dueling new players the second they escape from coldharbour!

Now now those duelist need their ego boost as they can't cut it in Cyrodiil. (Only aimed at duelist that prey on the lowbies)

we helped a reasonably new player (100CP) troll a bunch of them, with a new character stepping off the boat (level 6) wearing full purple inpen julianus & some spinners we'd all gathered for them using low level alt's LOL

I'm a new comer and have absolutely no idea what I'm doing, but it sure is fun whatever I'm doing.
I've had a quick look around in the game and the forum, so I'm starting to find a new resource of information that is currently starting to guide me much better.
Thanks for such a good distraction.
    :)
