advice for burst attacks for magic sorc pls

Maybe Im not using my mage sorc correctly. I just heavy charge lightning staff and do aoe attacks granted, but my Pulsar doesn't do crap after 5-8 zaps the enemies usually still sometimes alive, I run out of magic and I honestly find charged powered moves stronger and more reliable than spells, also should I focus on spell critical or spell penetration in CP?

You don't need to use Pulsar when AoEing if you use a Lightning Staff; Liquid Lightning, Elemental Blockade, and Heavy Attacking with the staff should make things melt for very little Magicka cost.

This is what I do, and if you have the Maelstrom Inferno Staff back-bar'd with Elemental Blockade down, those heavy attacks will do even more damage. It's awesome. If only I had it sharpened. Fortunately it's back-bar'd though.
