How goes the war against Crown Crates? Are they still happening this month?

Given that they just introduced the recipe for Super Ambrosia with the patch yesterday morning (thereby allowing them to include the super XP scrolls because technically it's now available in-game)...gonna say yes here.

Oh yeah they're coming, you can be sure of that considering ZoS hired someone new to their team who is well known specifically for cash RNG boxes with multiple other publishers. Most know how these turned out in these other games too. will 'ours' be different? we have to wait and see, but personally I expect things to unfold just as they have in other games.

While they did say they were building a different kind of MMO. They did not say anything about a different kind of gamble box.

These actually seem worse then most gamble boxes. I tried to stick with SWTOR after the f2p transition because I liked the game. The items in the boxes that I would have wanted for my character I purchased with in game currency. The lackluster focus in actual content killed SWTOR for me.
These boxes also seem to go against the entire idea of buy to play. That seems to imply freedom of purchase these lack.
I figured as much but lived in hope Don't suppose they've said a date they're being introduced? It's this month, isn't it?

@Cazzy The last I heard was 'end of November.' I expect it will be on or around Black Friday (can't remember if you're from the States, so... November 25th is Black Friday) but I've heard no official word to that effect.

Ahhh that would make sense. Sales and Crown Crates = lots of money for ZOS!

Am sure they will be here soon, they will definitely want them 'established' in the game before thanksgiving and x-mas holiday periods, apart from the obvious huge sales potential with people off work/college etc they will most likely be working on special holiday event crates too

Crown crates: it's coming. IMO, I don't care for crown crates as long as it's cosmetic. Although, I have no problem with the current selection of items from the crown store. As long as they don't start to add gear/weapons/potions VASTLY superior to what we can get in-game, it's fine. (XP scrolls? Meh. I always found that purely optional. Convenience should come at a price, anyway. It's more Pay-for-Time than Pay-to-win.)
Wrothgar: I don't experience any lag, but I haven't been spending too much time there since the anniversary event. Before that, it was going smooth for me.
One Tamriel: I definitely see more players around. Esp around dolmens, world bosses, and public dungeons. I like it. Some are open to group up, and a quick "need help with Boss at ___ " in zone chat generally nets some players actually going to your spot and help kill that Boss. In general, I am happy with there being more players around. Makes the game feel alive.
Cyrodiil: Wouldn't know. Never been.
