Looking at biology of big cats, they can roar but not purr. On the flip side, house cats can purr, but not roar.
So where do folks think that leave Khajiit? Can they roar, purr, or both?

Sings-Many-Songs, Argonian fisher: Sure, I'll do the thing... Eventually. Maybe.
Aerindel, Altmer stormcaller: After extensive research, I've come to the conclusion that doing the thing would be a waste of resources.
Liliel, Dunmer pyromancer: Aerindel said I shouldn't do the thing. Something about "resources".
Gyda Snowcaller, Nord cryomancer: I will find a way to do it that won't waste resources and make Aerindel proud of me.
Beatrice Leoriane, Breton vampire: I persuaded someone else into doing the thing. You are welcome, dear.
Sahima, Redguard performer: Doing the thing sounds awfully unpleasant and really not my problem.

I could see some racial variation letting some roar or some purr, but one khajiit doing both? This one is not so sure. Depends how far biology influences our fantasy realm's logic =31 -

✭✭Other?Would quite like it if the Khajiit could also do the full range of hissing when seriously annoyed. Followed by the yowling. Or the growling at the back of the throat to warn you to go away.
But this would also need to be accompanied by a tail that was lashing from side to side, all coming together to indicate that if someone did not stop doing what they were currently doing, pain will swiftly follow.1 -

✭✭Both!I would say definitely both. If you take the humanoid side, we can make a variety of noises, loud and quiet. Khajiit can talk of course (which lions and such obviously can't), but I'd say they could make their shout sound like a roar if they wanted to. And purr if they wanted as well Priests of Hircine
