Is it finally time for consoles to have buff trackers and DPS metrics?

I think it is finally time that our friends at ZOS take a strong look at adding in buff trackers and combat metrics into the console versions of ESO. Since launch, the only 'real' option that is available to anyone on console is to utilize a bosses health and time and approximate the DPS.

Please help us all to become more efficient players (if we choose to). Make it a toggle like combat numbers, nameplates, etc. Make it so it can be shared, but is private by default (so others can't judge).

I hear they are working on it, but I'm sure it'll be as generic as generic can be, just like the SCT.

But it's much easier to keep track of things if you do have trackers. And like another poster said, it can be like combat text - you should be able to turn it off if you think it isn't helping.

Knowing exactly when to refresh dots to avoid clipping and wasting dps time is crucial. I used to be a 40 man/mythic hard core WoW raider with a warlock. Trust me. DoT timers are much more than you know.

I don't / can't be a better player. Done it all. Next thread. Half the people that want this can't complete normal maelstrom and think it'll propel them to flawless overnight. Been without it for nearly 1.5 years and we've all been fine without it. I'd rather zos worked on fixes and new content than pointless shite like this.

Bad example, but Andy S videos show the buff and dot trackers he uses and it does look quite helpful...not saying I'll ever be that good but it looks more helpful than combat text.

Never understood the appeal to a screen full of numbers appearing so fast that it's almost impossible for anyone to actually make sense of them. IF this is what the DPS metric thing is, if not, then this post is irrelevant. I guess people like pretty numbers, only, almost all those numbers are meaningless to the large majority of people using them. No doubt someone will pipe up that their brain can process all those number whilst they're concentrating on killing a boss, adds and keeping out of the red areas. Why? Because there's always some people who argue the toss over being able to see the difference between a £5 HDMI cable and one that costs £30, so i suspect this won't be any different.

Exactly. Some humans need to be told "potion ready" and surge expiring. ..I'll tell a stam sorc when surge expires...after 2 hurricanes. Can't count to 2 then you've got no hope.

ZOS, please don't waste dev time on add-ons. Leave those in the hands of the very capable add-on writers the community already has. Loving all the DLC so far and looking forward to housing.

If you want add-ons play on a PC. Don't pick a console if you want PC features, that's your own problem and dev resources shouldn't be wasted just because you choose poorly.

I have both PC and PS4. If I want to use add-ons I use my PC. If I want to play lazy and just chill on the couch I use my PS4.

DPS metrics should have been there at launch. When a tanks or healers don't do their jobs it's more obvious than slow DPS. Especially with multiple DPS. People that don't like that can keep to role playing.

It's always kind of cool when you're reading a thread and you come across a post that says exactly what you're thinking...

yeah, I'm fine just working off of health bars...that's more than enough info for me - I was super happy with 1T and the removal of levels on the npc's because it helped clear up my screen quite a bit...

now, if you want to talk about adding some type of merchant feature to the consoles - sign me up...

YESSSS!!!!!! is there any valid reason or argument to NOT have this feature? It has been more than 14 months since console release and we still only have a bare fraction of the information that PC players have.
