Marksman set, just a thought

Why is the damage portion of this set's 5th bonus restricted to enemy players? I really don't see the point. If it were a good set in PvE with the damage working against mobs, okay it's probably still not going to outperform many other sets and if it does... so what? Though I don't think it would really be all that good even then.

I'm having a hard time finding other sets that specify it only working on enemy players. I do not refer to sets that would be ineffective outside of pvp, such as proccing off of being critically struck or protecting from critical attacks. Or other things that might be considered 'useless' outside of pvp, such as after rolldodging or other things you wouldn't spam as much in pve.

EDIT: For the sake of having a point, I don't care that it does work like this nor am I advocating that it continues to or ceases to work this way. It just threw me off seeing this in a set bonus, struck me as odd and lit some curiosity.

There's a ton of trials sets that only buff damage in dungeons. Let the pvpers have their toys. In fact, they need to do more of these sets. Then they can separately balance the two.

I mean, if that's how things worked then that would be fine. As it stands though, it's just kind of an oddity. I don't have any personal notes on whether marksman is that sort of power for pvp comperable to the trial sets for pve, don't really touch pvp myself except bouncing around inside the city. At best it strikes me as a set you would use with the other set that buffs your crit damage in stealth for ganking, but what do I know.

    I don't get it, basically

If you want a bow set for PvE try Archer's Mind or Hawk's Eye sets. They have better 2-4 set bonuses than Marksmen too.

Oh I have no interest in using it, I was just browsing through things on the guild traders and the marksman set struck me as out of place with the 'player' part of its description. Is there more sets like that, that specifically mention only operating with enemy players available?

    It's a set you get as a PvP "reward"...I mean...so yeah...enemy players.

Vicious Death comes to mind, there maybe others.

Then why not the other pvp reward sets, only working on enemy players, or with them nearby, or in cyrodiil. The closest I've identified so far as the Imperial Physique, which has a 5th bonus that is innoperative outside of the imperial city.

Yes that one, it had slipped my mind. So that makes three bonuses that just do nothing outside of pvp that I know of.
