Lvl 34 khajiit nb. Keep dying in pve help pls!!

lristau
lristau
Hey, I have a level 34 nb and I can't make it past a few solo dungeons in pve. I feel like I should be able to but keep dying. I have attributes to 23 health and 20 stamina. I have mundus stone - the tower. I'm using a 2h with some ice bonus and a bow on my other bar. I have random medium armor mainly with stamina boosts. Do I have my attributes wrong or does armor make that big of a difference? Or do I just simply not know how to play. I'm getting frustrated and seriously considering switch race to make a magic sorc. Any info would help greatly. Thanks!

First off, respec and put all attribute points into stamina, you will deal more damage.

Swap mundus to either warrior or thief, Khajit is in a really good place right now for stambuilds, due to higher critical dmg from carnage passive.

Bosmer and Redguard are good choices too.

Get rid of the 2h with ice, its not use for a stambuild as you want to deal physical damage, once you hit level cap, then the cps come into play, so maxing out mighty is a good place to start imo.

2H is fine, but with sharpened, and use poison as we can deal a lot more damage due to changes in the game, finally.

A mix match of armour is rubbish, so you need sets, try 5 hundings, rest night mothers gaze, that will do you till you hit cap, then have a look at builds currently being used, and farm for pieces.

Another reason the mix match of armour is useless is in that you are not using passives from the armour skill lines, i.e 5 pieces of medium armour grant weapon damage bonuses etc, normally a 5/1/1 ratio is fine, if you have undaunted maxed, as that will increase your attribute pools.

In terms of morphs, use the stamina morphs, and build up mats, so you can craft your own gear/pots/food, tri potions are quite good if you have resource issues and using siphoning strikes will get your stamina etc back fast.

E.g on my stambuilds I normally run at 3.7k weapon damage, (unbuffed) and 70% or higher weapon crit, all gear golden bar jewelery but thats end game gear.

5 pieces Hundings, rest Night Mothers gaze will do you till you hit level cap, then start buildling your cps, you will be amazed at how hard you will hit.

Plus do some PvP and get Vigor, that will help you with self heals, Rally is ok too, but most use it for the wpn dmg buffs rather than heals.

On my 2H bar, I use rally, power extraction as it hits like a truck on mobs, dizzying swing and shuffle and other skills necessary.

Personally, the way NBs level and the way the rest of the classes level differ a whole lot. Levelled a bosmer nb all the way till cp 160 as my main and never had any problems before, even when i am not using any pvp skills like Vigour and such.

The secret to NB is you need preparation and prioritization. You can't just waltz into a group and aoe them down with class skills like Templar or Sorc. You need to know who your enemies are, what are the best tools against groups and against bosses.

Reaper's Mark is your friend. I always level up my assassin skill line because this line gives the best tools in damage mitigation and heals. Yeap heals. Killer's Blade and Reaper's Mark both will ensure your health is topped up on each enemy kill.

You're a khajit so using melee weapons like dual wield or Two handers can really make a difference. My rotation for the whole of lvl 30-50 was this:

Reaper's Mark on cloth enemy - Mirage - (Ambush - Cloak - Surprise Attack - Killer's Blade) -rinse and repeat.
    Reaper's Mark - Mirage - Ambush - Steel Tornado - Killer's Blade - rinse and repeat.

Again its all about preparation and prioritization, not blindly rush into battle. in certain areas, the mobs will congregate and at times, will actually call on more mobs since they will run to a better spot to attack you ( healers, archers, spellcasters) and the ones at melee will either CC you with stun or slow. Know your enemy, NB gameplay isnt about being in the open. Its about hitting when no one noticing.

Excellent info! So before i get to worked up I will switch my 2h to physical damage ( that is good to know) as well as mindus stone and armour. Where would this armour be dropped or sold? Or is it possible to craft on my own. I will also switch attribute points And look into vigor.

Would bosmer or red guard improve my survivability in pve? Or fairly equal to what I will have when I'm done these changes. Jewelry I belive has to be bought or dropped and can't be crafted right?

Sorry for the newb questions, but I am a newb.. I really like the game so I am willing to learn it if folks like you are willing to help. so thanks big time!

Your welcome, hehe we all started sometime, you will suss it in no time.

Most stam builds run with 2h/dw, or bow, so use according to the situation.

Hundings can be crafted or bought, so if you cannot craft, then get someone trustworthy to craft for you, a friend or guild crafter, in terms of set bonuses, thats what you need to look at, a new meta is in effect now and gathering power in terms of using heavy armour for stam builds, which is sorta ok, I still use medium armour though.

Bosmer/Khajit/Redgaurd and Imperial are all very good choices for stambuild nbs, redguard are good fpr pvp/pve due to longer sustain, khajit are good for both imo, with a higher weapon crit, and bosmer which I used to main till yesterday are good as gankers and small support play in pvp e.g due to higher combat stam regen.
Jewellery has to be bought or dropped, sadly cant be crafted yet, 3 pieces of agility robust will net you more stamina and weapon damage as well, and enchant with wpn dmg glphs , golden at some stage, dont worry about jewellery so much at your level, wait till you hit cap and then cp 160, as you will be able to wear high end gear and then you can work on increasing champion points and golding out your end game gear.

Its fine mate, we all started at some time.

BTW its worth picking up flowers and materials etc, build up your stocks, and start doing crafting writs, they are worth doing, I do them on a few characters almost daily and net up to and more 100K+ gold per week, plus a healthy amount of gold materials, so it makes you self sufficient to a large degree, and gives you xp and materials plus the gold.

Even as a stamina-based character, don't knock some of the healing tools you have just because they're magicka skills. I had a tough time leveling my stamina nightblade because I tried to only use stamina skills unless I was going for a stamina morph of a class skill. Funnel Health will not do much in the way of direct damage, but being able to heal a little bit before you are able to get to Momentum in the 2H tree.

Blur gives you a dodge chance and if you morph it you can get a little bit of extra physical and spell resistance as well. Ultimates like Consuming Darkness and Soul Shred actually scale to whichever resource is higher, so they are useful to both stamina and magicka players. Soul Shred is probably going to be the best resource you have to regenerate health and cause damage to enemies once it's morphed to Soul Tether.

As far as your 2H weapon goes, using that with a bow is a perfectly good set up. I actually started going dual wield and bow, but found it to be difficult until I switched to 2H and bow. One of the biggest life savers is going to be Cleave if you can morph it to Brawler because it gives you a small damage shield for every enemy you hit. It may not seem like much, but if your shield is getting hit then your health isn't going down.

If you can get into the habit of weapon swapping then you can get in a swipe with Brawler, than switch to your bow bar and pop off an AOE like Volley without necessarily having to watch your health bar so closely.

If you haven't already, I would start collecting crafting resources now. Find ore and wood and keep killing animals to get hides. If you don't want to personally get into crafting gear at this stage, at least you'll have the resources to start on it later, or give materials to someone else to craft gear for you.
So something like "Hundings" (which is short for Hunding's Rage) is crafted armor that has stacking bonuses in a set for every piece you wear. Some gear sets are crafted, some pieces are given as quest rewards, and some you can find by killing delve or dungeon bosses.

I am/was in a similar situation to you.
but Bosmer and at level 34-40 it was not any easier for me, i think there is just a dip in survivibility/damage for Stam NB at that point. Or my gear really sucked because I didn't want to break up a my set/kept getting magicka sets are quest rewards in greenshade.

I agree that using the morphed Cleeve really helped, I also have the assaination ability that jumps in and stuns, if it stuns the monster (so many are immune) is great. For Bow there is Arrow spary that you can morph to give you a snare so you can run away/kite.

Eventually your damage goes way up at around 40 lvl and you get your weapons/class to 38 and you morph some more of your abilities level up passives. Then you start killing people before they get close to you, or chunking mobs with 2 hander.

Good to know some are in the same boat, I have made a few changes mentioned above And feel they have already helped a bit, still working on vigor and getting to the thief mundus stone. Now that I know brawler gives a shield I think that is going to help me big time. Thanks for the great info!!! Much appreciated - definitely stressing a little less now. - haven't got a set of Hundings yet, but have a few pieces of venom set which seems to be decent set for now.

If anyone has anything else to add I'm all ears!!!
    Thanks again guys

You need to pvp 100k for vigor.

    Or reroll a magic class.
