RNG, stamina set staves, magicka set axes etc...

Dear Zenimax,
I am seriously done with your stupid RNG and "intelligent" drops. Nothing drops intelligently. I have been farming City of Ash I for over a week now for spellweave fire and lightning staff with sharpened. What do I keep getting? Embershield and sunderflame staves, while getting sharpened spellweave daggers?! Seriously? Thats such provocation. Just remove those options from loot tables completely (Edit: for those who missunderstood, not swords, swords needs to still drop), together with training and prosperous trait on endgame gear. I am really tired of this meaningless farm.

While not the 2H axe, magika users commonly use swords on their back bar.

We do not want Zos to stop drops of swords for magika sets.

I am not talking about swords. I would be happy if I got swords. But I did not get even those. Axes, maces, daggers. No swords and no staves. Its horrible. No one needs sunderflame staff or spellweave axe.

@ZOS_GinaBruno , patch notes said we will get more intelligent drops but I am just getting the most unintelligent drops possible.

Tru story. It's stupid and does not benefit the game in anyway.

I have no hope they will fix "smart loot", they have tried to fix animation canceling what wasnt instend, they just broke it more and needed to back what was on start but at all they back with still some problems.

now when Im running vet trial weapon drops what I see....its horrible, nonstop I getting battleaxe of IA or staf of VO or eternal ykoenda, done 15+ runs and still have no any drop of magica set on staff at least sword or any heavy/medium set in nonstaff weapon :'(

You misread the patch notes. They only changed sets that specifically increase damage for a skill line. They didn't change it so that "stam" sets wouldn't drop staves and "magicka" sets wouldn't drop stamina weapons (and yes, if they ever do make the drops that "smart" you can kiss swords for magicka sets goodbye.)

Also, wasn't there someone asking the other day why there wasn't a "Bow of..." for a set that boosts damage for 2h skills because they were using the bow on their back bar?

Yes, was going to ask where exactly did he saw those patch notes.

Think Zos is working on smarter drops, but looks like an ongoing process. You can see they are activly working on it, for example when they added that jewelry of heavy, med or light setsdropping only on healthy, robust and arcane, but as @Alucardo rightduly pointed out, it's not that easy for the rest of the sets. You don't wont to screw over some niche builds so they'll probably have to manually select which pieces drop, on which traits with every set, and that's probably why we don't have such system in place already.

Tl;dr: Patience, it will come.

I think people understood what you meant, and you are getting some bad RNG there.

We just pointed out that if they make the drops "smart" in the way you expect them to (and they seem to be working on that), then logically swords would not drop for a "magicka" set, as they are a stamina weapon.

It's a matter of "careful what you wish for". Right now, you get weapons that you cannot use, but the ones you want (even for some niche builds) exist.

Problem is, what if some combinations are desirable, not even optimal, but just desirable for some builds. What if they rework how some passives function, how if they change traits strenghs.

As you can see, it's not as simple as you may think, but I beleive they are indeed working on a solution.

You think running it for hours every day is not enough? I already deconstructed over 50 helmets from the vet runs and ran the normal one at least 100 times (even without group). Got every single kill mobs achievement from that dungeon there is already long time ago. I cant grind more, I have work, I come home and grind till I go to sleep. Its not possible to grind more for me.

one week of farming is nothing. Back when lich Set only dropped in cyro, people like me did 1k dolmen (enemy of coldhabour on 4 chars) for the set. You will feel great after finishing the grind

Anchor does not take you 15-20 minutes to do tho xD And lich set was droping out of Cyro also, I got hat drop from anchor in Bangkorai.

IT IS THE CONTENT. Nothing new coming till next year, so if you grind your gear in blink of an eye YOU will start complaining about the lack of new content ingame. IT IS TRUE. Face it and live with it.

P.C.: I've done more than 1k vma runs without getting sharpened inferno staff and still i'm not complaining, not creating a topic filled with tears. Because you know: sh*t happens! Just mindlessly grind and be happy when you finally get what you wish

Content? Wtf? Thats not content for me. Its gear I need to do content I did not do yet. Vet MoL, thats content for me, not farming armor/weapons. I have plenty of "content" or rather stuff to do in the game. Need to get all motives, sell stuff, get money for housing, get all the achievements I dont have. Farming one dungeon for stupid armor is making me NOT DO THE CONTENT that I need to do. I never complained about lack of content since they started adding DLC every 3-4 months. Why do you even comment on the topic when you dont have anything to add?

A) You don't know anything about history of the game. We used to farm gear (new content) every vet rank raise.
vMoL was introduced long time ago, almost a year... so its old content. The new content is missing (just craglorn rebalance, old sets rebalance + some new sets). So it is the new content.
C) Don't tell me what to do and what not.
D) Stop being rude and go farm your gold and whatever else you need to feel comfortable.
E) If you don't want other people to post in your topic, don't post it.

1. Fix the loot tables. That means removing training from an CP160 loot table, buffing the heck out of Prosperous to make it useful, and removing all Stamina-based weapons from Magicka set loot tables, and Magicka-based weapons from Stam set loot tables. Including Swords.

2. Add in a passive effect to the first of the Destruction's Staff passives that boosts Spell Damage by 20% with a Destruction Staff equipped, and add a 5% damage buff to the last Destruction Staff passive.

3. Buff some weapon traits to make them competitive when compared to Precise and Sharpened, and make final bosses drop both a weapon and a piece of jewelry from the Dungeon.

They should implement this cool system they have on other games where person A can take something he doesn't want and put it on the market so person B who can't seem to get the item can look for it and buy it. Nah lets just keep it BOA because RNG misery is fun for everyone.

the issue is staves coming with stamina sets.

Swords sure because magicka uses it for the dual wield spell damage bonus and the dual wield damage done passive thats it.

but there is no reason to put a staff or bow in a stamina set. it makes absolutely no sense other than for the devs to make it harder for people to get the drop they want which is just completely lazy. I would rather get nothing at all in place of a stamina set staff.
