Sap Nightblades and Dark Magic Sorcerers: Necromancer Without the Class

Not that nightblades and sorcerers can't have class, just not THE class.

After reading some of the newest cut class threads and the necromancy wishes that have popped up recently, I decided to play around with making builds from existing classes to fit a necromancer theme. I'm unsure of the combat viability for anything other than PVE, and even then I don't know if there are enough damage skills to be useful.

Nightblade

Skills mostly revolve around the Siphon and Shadow trees, with a few of the Undaunted skills because why wouldn't we use bone shields and necromantic orbs. Even though it's a stamina move, the damage shields scales off health instead of stamina. Elemental Drain and Blockade are present because we're going to take advantage of the benefits of frost by slowing and/or immobilizing. Also because corpses are cold.

The sorcerer bars have many similarities in that I used the Undaunted skills and Blockade again. Unfortunate side effect of not having much variety. For sorcs, dark deal is our friend for the health and stamina restoration to power the bone shield. Group up multiple enemies and Encase with a dash of Blockade and Velocious Curse. For extra fun, I opted for vampire skills because it would be a crime if I didn't include them in at least one of these builds.

Optional skills include: Degeneration, Blood Altar, Consuming Trap (yeah soul magic, but did you see all those black soul gems Mannimarco had?), Aspect of Terror, Harness Magicka.

Thoughts? Better theme builds? Gear?

Gear wise there was this monster set that summons a daedroth for 15s that will definitely be up to the theme you want.

Necromancer lives with aspect of terror. That should be part of your main rotation imo lol. And then wear the Lich set. With a frost staff. Use restoration on the back bar with just force siphon from the resto skill tree. Use destro ult and veil of blades for awesome ultimate.

    So in my mind it's:

    Swallow Soul
    Elemental Drain
Elemental blockade (frost) / Refreshing Path
    Aspect of terror
    Crippling grasp
    Destro ult

    Force siphon
    SAP essence
    Bone surge
    Necrotic Orb
    Structured Entropy
    Veil of blades

5 piece Lich with 5 piece dragon guard and maw of infernal monster set.

Edit: just realised Robes of the withered hand set is awesome as well and works really well with the theme of necromancer.

Damn, I think I might just go farm these sets just in case I change my nb to magicka lol.

I actually had Aspect of Terror on the NB bar for a long time before deciding not to go with it because it scatters enemies. Most of the other skills are aoe dots that work best with clumps, so I figured it would be best for situational use instead of general running around maps.

I'm a little bit surprised going with this theme is actually combat viable. There are quite a few damage dealing skills that "can't" be used because they don't fit the theme, but then again there are enough dots to make it a slow killer with some support.

Get this going with a three dps one tank team, with you being one of the dps and supporting the team. You can change swallow soul with funnel health and go full magicka. Change that aspect of terror with dark shades for group play and you're done.
