Entitlement Players

Over the last few months the complaints and rants about "elitist" players being rude and mistreating lower skilled players have been all over the forums. I would like to introduce another category of player and my grievances against them.

The "Entitlement Players". These are some of the common traits of these players. Not all of these players exhibit all of these traits but some or many of them.:

They are entitled to play the game free without the plus subscription and believe they should have access to all features and content. They complain they do not have crafting bags and can not get the content offered in the DLCs. They are upset the crown store items are not obtainable in the free game.

They are entitled to play on an equal level with players that have spent much time developing and equipping their characters. They should be able to do all the same content and reap the same rewards as more experienced seasoned players without any of the work. If they desire they should be able to enter the PVP campaigns without even a basic skill level or knowledge of the game.

They are entitled to play the game without obtaining knowledge from any outside sources. They should not have to read the patch notes, the forums or the ESO website to keep up with changes. Nor should they use google to explore the abundance of third party information about the game, character builds, add-ons or events. Instead they are entitled to have other players attempt to explain all this in response to their question in chat.

During solo play they are entitled to reap the full experience and loot of any mob with a single hit while allowing other players to do the actual battle. They are entitled to run around quest areas gleaning rewards from all the other players without so much as a thank you to those doing the work. Extending this entitlement to several groups or players helps them gain even greater rewards for even less effort.

They are entitled to join any adventuring, delve or pledge group regardless of skill, equipment or knowledge. They are entitled to the time of the other players in the group. They are entitled to be carried through the event so that they can gain the reward. They should not be expected to make any effort to learn what they need to contribute to the effort on the current adventure or future endeavors.

They are entitled to all this and more without any show of gratitude or common manners. And if anyone dares to say anything about these entitlement behaviors they are entitled to whine about the "elitist" that mistreated them.

...I call them "The Gimme Crowd"...
But yeah, I often feel vexed by people thinking they are entitled to all that and more, just by gracing the game with their presence.
    But eh.
    People.

    Rofl!!!

You may not realize this but the tone of your OP falls under an "entitled" person. Not the people you describe but you yourself. I'm not trying to attack you but I'd like to point out that anyone who pays, subscribes who feels their opinion and points of view and to be or should be considered over anyone else is by definition "entitlement mentality"

Let's also address that people who buy the game aren't playing for free. Let's clear that up.
Let's also clear up that people who don't buy dlc can ask for a way to access digital items sold exclusively from the crown store because as you describe, they actually are asking for quality of life improvements and not items.

No one is playing for free unless they stole the game on PC as even on consoles they have to pay for ps plus or Xbox live gold.

Now that we have that out of the way......

Some players may have purchased the game on any format with the understanding that other than dlc, all base game updates would be included in their purchase as the head developer publicly announced this and it's even on some game descriptions.

Just to put things in context.

It's O K that you disagree that they should get access but the reasoning and logic behind it from your point of view comes off as you being the one entitled.

No offense but I felt compelled to write this as hopefully the community that you're pointing out is looked in the correct context bs what you write.

The correct context for those you describe are just paying customers. Let's leave it there.

Don't worry buddy ... it happens in real life too. And no, it's not only young people. Every day I meet people in their 50s and above that were born on third and think they hit a triple.

There are a lot of lazy, gimme-gimme-gimme people in the world. ESO is no different.
