Draugr Motif drop rate far too low.

I've been keeping track of the amount of quests I've done for Fighter's, Mage's and Undaunted Guild. I've now run over 100 of them without a motif. I find I'm spending all day, everyday, running these quests and drawing a massive blank. I got a couple of them early on - but this is a HUGE dry spell, and surely not one that can be put down to seriously bad luck, can it?

I've only done 30 total between all three of the guilds and have a grand total of 1 motif.. Granted i'm not 100's like yourself, but this is really discouraging!

If the drop rate is somewhere around 5 percent, then it can be totally plausible to have your odds (though definitely frustrating). I haven't kept track of how many I have done. I'd say about 100 scattered across multiple characters, and I've gotten about 3-4 motifs. The rest I purchased from guild traders.

If anything, there might be a hidden requirement to get the motifs, maybe crafting skills at a certain level. Wasn't it laurel that required having learned a mercenary motif to be able to get?

Honestly, I just think it's a really low drop rate. ZOS loves to keep us grinding.

I gave up and bought the 4 pages I had missing after getting daggers 3 times and three other pages twice, doing all three dailies... daily on 4 characters for about 20 days.

So 80 dailies, give or take, for 15 pages. And a looooot of junk. Which puts the rate in the ballpark of 20% for me. Not great, but just caving and buying the remaining motifs gave me a lot of piece of mind and freed up like 90 minutes of my day.

I've done approximately 400 runs so far and I am still missing 3 pages.
The chance seems to be low but in general it is okay.
It could be higher sure but since this is a non-dlc grind there aremore people farming it.
So you can also just farm gold and try to cash it from the guild shops.

Got thr gold book 2nd time. Never had any others.

28 dailies and 1 motif. This is worse than Gold Coast dailies. At least that was around 12 dailies for 1 motif....even if it was usually something I had 6 of already

I think between undaunted, fighters, and mages guilds I have done maybe 60+ or so and I think I managed to get about 2-3 motif pages. Yokudan is even worse considering you, depending on the quest, might need a group for a remote chance at getting a motif page. Even the celestials at least have a guaranteed drop once a week. But to be honest, I don't want everything to turn into easy mode but I do want to feel some amount of reward for my time and effort.

I love that these don't come so easily. Maybe they will still worth something after one month. But even with this rate they get pretty worthless before the next DLC.

Also is it not the case you can share guild quests? Giving opportunity to run this all day?

Saying that I have to admit I got 8 pieces already just by doing each quest once on my main crafter. Maybe something to do with your crafting skill levels? Would be awesome, crafters certainly can't feel any special these days.

This is due to your intentions of making a profit out of it. Drop rates for Hollowjack are the way they are to allow everyone to finish the motif and get all the achievements for the event. They are fine.

Why would you compare hallowjack to drauger?

Hallowjack is a limited time motif they wanted people to get while utilizing their event.

It was never suppose to be rare by any means...

I do run them all day... its all I do all day... I've had no time to actually enjoy the rest of the game at all. lol. Everyone is so hyped about all the set pieces - and I'm grinding for the same motif all day long. 12 characters - all maxed, and I can usually get through about 6 or 7 of them in a day (since usually my wife hops on and we quest share to do 6 runs on each character).

It's highly disheartening. I hated the drop rate of hallowjack - but this is the opposite extreme for me. My wife has half a dozen of them and has run pretty much the same amount. That means about 6 motifs (give or take 1 or 2) in over 250 runs... that's HORRIBLE odds... Certainly not the 20% as suggested above... lol... not even the 5% for me... 100 would have meant 5 motifs... not zero.

Maybe its just my luck... I got 1 tempering alloy from 1,200 rubedite ore the other day too... lol

Motifs in general are too difficult to seek out in guild traders. Hollowjack (not Hallowjack) flooded the traders. It should have been a bound motif to be honest.

Making more motifs easily attainable will continue to flood a frustrating system of searching for the ones you need.

Obviously it's the search system that needs an overhaul. Until then, I'm all for motifs staying at a low drop rate.

i've done i'll say fare share of these quests (mage/fighter/undaunted) and i'm yet to see a single drop of motif. Every time i don't get a motif drop it pulls me away and i'm sure the same is happening to everyone. I'd read somewhere that drop rate is appx 1/20 quests done but given the OP's experience that seems to be false and also from other players experiences.

Now, i don't mind a motif being rare but scarce as the DRAGUR (& YOKUDAN) it's definitely no in interest of players spending time and efforts to get them, knowing that 1/2 patch later they will be in Crown store. It's also a big inconvinience and disheartening for the collector who like to have every motif on their crafter. And late making them to pay real life money for the achievement is a very low move.

Si i'm not sure if it's a marketing move from ZOS that make a motif rare and then later put in crown store to make money, but if it is, i'd be disgusted.

Would be better if you got fragments of pages to put the page together - so you get a guaranteed motif after doing 10 or 20 of them... I'd settle for that right now... better than running 109 (which is what my current figure is) and absolutely NOTHING to show for it...

those motifs are fine, now I see they are 15k-40k depending on which motif page and as those dailys are implemented to lvl guilds...they are short so most lvling players will do those dailys, a lot players are doing with chance for motifs (like a lot was farming motif from event) and these motifs are still worth this 20-40k because of low drop rate in compare to hollowjack.
if you want collect full draugr motif nobody forbids you wait some until it go down more with price like look today on drom-mahra, dark brotherhood motifs etc

Well, on console you'll be lucky to find a motif under 100k for Draugr - and I understand the price will drop. And I've conceded - after 115 and zip - that I'll wait for that price drop and buy them. I've sunk 30 hours game time into trying to get them and drawing a blank. That's WAY too much time. I could farm 500k gold in half the time and buy them much more easily.

meh, these prices on console...so 1 simple solution is ZOS will honor us to read this....increase chance drop for everything with is problem on console servers, at all it is separate serwer so why people on this should be punisher with sick rng which is at all easier to farm on pc

I've sold Draugr motifs that I already had for ~40K a piece. I'm on EU PC. Not a bad deal after all.

I've never actually gotten any of the pages either. Been doing them on my alts to level their lines up a bit faster since 1T came out. I actually forgot they even dropped those motifs from never seeing them.

What's the rush? These are not seasonal items. Eventually the price will drop below a threshold where you will value your time more and simply just buy the pieces still missing.

Even 40k a piece is not huge - the full book costs about the price of 2 legendary rings at the cyro vendor.
