Hide helmet plus polymorph plus skin plus hat equals dashboard? - Xbox

So, I've had hide helmet active, and a skin turned on, then the witch whistle skeleton is layered on that... Then a few times now switching the helmet dropped me to the dashboard. As has applying one of the skeleton or pumpkin masks.
I figured, probably because of too many appearance modifiers all on at the same time.
