I was on a stealing spree in Hallin's Stand and had like a 4k bounty which is a KoS. I went into an inn to check for safeboxes and a guard magically appeared inside and killed me cos I couldn't escape as I was indoors and the whole area was too small for me to get a chance to hide myself.
Anyway, the question is: Can NPCs I steal from summon guards out of nothing if my bounty is that high? Or can guards just randomly appear when I'm stealing form a safebox? Because I didn't aggro any guard outside so I have no idea how it got in the building... (there are no guards inside the building by default either)

Surragard✭✭✭✭I've had guards randomly appear in houses while I was stealing before. Been a while since I've had it happen but I haven't been hanging around cities too often either. Part of me wishes they would shout STOP RIGHT THERE CRIMINAL SCUMI don't always drink Skooma, but when I do I go to the Southwall Corner Club. May you walk on warm sands my friends.2 -

✭✭Wait, when NPCs say they're going to call the guards, they can actually call them into a building where they were not before? I assumed it was just an empty threat. I've never seen that but now it makes me want to steal more so I can try it.

It's funny. I have no clue myself. Like if you're the only NPC in a place while I'm stealing, you gonna leave your post to flag a guard while I steal everything and then kill you? kamimark✭✭✭✭I've never seen a guard appear where they weren't before. Maybe ZOS added one to that inn? I can never remember which inns are safe and which are dangerous, I want to leave a chalk mark on the dangerous doors.
