Mercantile skill and how to Revamp Vendors!

I think it would be neat if there was a point to general vendors other than to repair gear and sell junk. I think the Grocer is ok as is but as for the rest a few ideas would be:

-Rotating inventories that can have rare-ish armor/materials (with limited stock) that are somewhat random. this gives you a reason to check what x vendor has today and actually browse.

-unique items that are vendor specific - gives them some flair and personality "oh this vendor sells this really cool thing that no one else does"

-random vendor sales. this would add to one or both of the previous ideas. ontop of having potentially cool items they could randomly have sales opening up opportunities to make some money. hell even have specific items that can be resold to other vendors who are in short supply of x item so you can travel and make small profits. (kinda like fable 2 i think it was). so tldr sometimes a vendor will give extra money for x items or he will sell x items cheaper. this could be based on his actual sales, eg if a vendor is unused by players he will put a sale on making himself more attractive to players ensuring all get used. this would be an awesome opportunity to add a mercantile/speechcraft skill line.

-reputation. using a vendor more often will make him friendlier towards you. giving small discounts. possibly extra items open up or even services.

-small bonus in gold when selling an item to a vendor that actually would use it. eg food to a grocer, weapons to a smith, bows to a woodworker, so on. smiths repair gear cheaper than a grocer (they are more efficient at it, takes them less time = less gold)

and thats my quick brainstorm im interested to hear your thoughts on my ideas as well as any idea you have about this. i just feel vendors are currently a wasted opportunity to make the world deeper and richer.!
