Please give us a way to disable the skeleton look of the Witchmother's event memento

Some of us really do dislike that look and still want to have the extra experience gain. There isn't even a way to cancel the effects and revert back to my look without disabling the exp bonus as well. This is vastly different from our last event; eating a cake granted us the same experience boost with none of the visual annoyance.

It will only be live for three weeks or so. I doubt they would have time to make any changes on it before the event ends, especially when it is something that doesn't impairs the functionality of the event.
Just so that everyone knows, my Altmer still can't have black hair. About a dozen of Altmer NPCs in the game have black hair. Just saying.

    Meet my characters:
    Command: Do the thing.

Zadarri, Khajiit Fist of Thalmor: The thing was done, as commanded.
Durza gra-Maghul, Orc blacksmith: The thing was done perfectly, in the most efficient way.
Tegwen, Bosmer troublemaker: You can't prove I didn't do the thing.
Sings-Many-Songs, Argonian fisher: Sure, I'll do the thing... Eventually. Maybe.
Aerindel, Altmer stormcaller: After extensive research, I've come to the conclusion that doing the thing would be a waste of resources.
Liliel, Dunmer pyromancer: Aerindel said I shouldn't do the thing. Something about "resources".
Gyda Snowcaller, Nord cryomancer: I will find a way to do it that won't waste resources and make Aerindel proud of me.
Beatrice Leoriane, Breton vampire: I persuaded someone else into doing the thing. You are welcome, dear.
Sahima, Redguard performer: Doing the thing sounds awfully unpleasant and really not my problem.
Ellaria Valerius, Imperial priestess: I'll pray to the Eight for the thing to be done, if it is Their will.

If you want the buff, you have to endure the "visual annoyance". Like vamps. Or monster shoulders. Or buff animations. Or armor styles of drop gear.

Put on a disguise. The ones that you wear for certain quests. The upside is that they override everything, including the brew's visual effects. The downside is that they override everything, including skins, costumes, collectibles, etc.

It's a touch annoying after a bit, but at least they were kind enough to include models for the beast races. I was rather delighted to find my Khajiit had a feline skull and bone tail.

My only gripe with the visuals is the robe, though. It wouldn't bother me a bit if I kept my armor.

Wait a sec.. Do the Plunder Skulls drop without the morphic boost in effect? Because if they do, I really don't much care about the XP buff.

No. You have to drink the brew to morph, to then obtain the exp buff. No morph, no buff.

Ah, damn. I figured as much, but I had to ask. After just one two-hour round of it, I'm kinda tired of looking at the robed skeleton.

Lol I guess just get over it. Someone has to have something to complain about. You want them to go back and make another patch for an event they gave you for free because you don't like what the event, which is optional, makes you look like.

It's not a "little thing". Imagine a new player forced to do most vanilla quests in a skeleton form... I was sickened with skeleton and jester morphs before, and now they are EVERYWHERE! I can't bear to think it's going to be like this for another two weeks.

P.S. I hope most people find the motif as disguisting as i do, skeleton for 2 weeks are bad enough, but if everyone and his mother will be hanging around in THAT for MONTHS i think i gonna quit.

Khajiit has some sympathy with this point of view yes.

After all it is a festival and there are many masks and costumes - but we cannot display these while we participate in the festival yes because we all must use the same polymorph to reap the benefits of the tasty, tasty plunder skulls.

Khajiit does not expect a solution for this festival but maybe this point it could be considered for future events?

    My immersion!!!!!! Don't ruin it!!!!!

I don't mind people doing pressups on each other or playing music down the mic, but how dare you make me look like a skeleton!!!!

I don't like any armor or costume or weapons. I want to fight naked but keep the armor stats and weapon damage. But I won't get that either.

    You wear that costume boy.

There is a solution. Wear a DISGUISE. Not a crown store costume, but a disguise, the ones you get ingame during quests.

If you have none left go to Blackheart Haven, IIRC there's one there.

Those disguises have downsides - they cannot be dyed, they take up inventory space, etc. BUT in this case they're a HUUUGE advantage.

Good thing i'm on PC. And i don't think ZoS has any control of what people are doing with their mics. And no i don't think one bad justifies another bad. And yes i think immersion is really damn important in a game like this. It's not your generic flashy asian MMO you know.
