Please don't make housing with in game gold

If you allow housing to be purchased with in game gold you will be rewarding all those cheaters in game .
You let them keep all those mats and become rich . To be fair make housing upgrading tied to your achievements ..

What about those of us that have saved gold legitimately for housing all along? I've never chased achievements but I've saved plenty of gold.

I know several endgame players who don't cheat who have that kind of money. They own guild stores/traders and make the gold that way. What's better? People buying houses and having extra storage space thanks to having more money in real life? Or people working hard for gold ingame, having fun questing/trading, and then buying a bigger house with their gold?

When you say cheaters are you talking about bots who farm mats and make gold that way? Because chances are, they're probably not that interested in playing the game or having a home anyway. They're more interested in the economy of the game and flooding the market with mats. I might be wrong. There will be cheaters in most games, no matter what, but why punish the rest of the gamer base for their misdeeds?

After all, ZOS is giving everyone a small house free (no gold req) for a quest reward I believe.

Think about it. In skyrim u had to due a quest to get a house . They said u get a apartment after quest. Its just more ways they reward cheaters. If they want more people to play don't make end game things only available to such i small amount. I know lots of people who have gotten frustrated with this and left game. Its sad

Wow. This actually seems quite offensive to me. I don't even want to explain why. All I can say is I could not disagree more with the OP and I'm sure the majority are the same. By the OPs logic, might as well remove the entire economy to stop cheaters from benefitting from their ill gotten gains. Smh... Shut down the mega server while you're at it because we don't want to reward cheaters!

So what type of quests do you have in mind and for which players?

Is the level of house tied to difficulty in level of quest? Eg end game players get the castles, while people new like me, get a cave?

If so… no thanks. I’d rather graft in game and hand over the gold. im even happy to use crown store for purchases.

I think the more ways you can get and improve your house, the better. Whether that be questing, gold or crowns. That way, everyone is included.

The little gem I am going to take away from this, is the idea of achievements affecting housing. Perhaps a way to display your mementos, library for the books you've read, maybe we can even use our dyes as paint, and perhaps a stable for your mounts. Okay so the last one isn't an achievement, but y'all get the point.

I was going to write a detailed post, but I will save my time. Thanks zos for making housing via in-game gold, that is the only option that makes actual sense. Yeah, I am sure we will have fancy furniture and fancy stuff purchased only via crown store, but I am glad the basics will be bought with in game gold.

That's actually an awesome idea. Have a big castle tied to dro'mathra destroyer. Then I don't need to spam my achievement in zone chat, I can just buy the biggest castle to show how awesome I am.
Those with Flawless Conquerer will get a small house, those with Stormproof a tiny hut and the rest just needs to get better achivements :P

First free apartment/flat, larger house/castle in-game gold purchases, crafting supported furnishings, etc.

And you know they will (at some point) be adding Crown Store housing items, features, etc.

It looks like there will be a bit of something for everyone from multiple sources.

to be fair to OP, we all know there are cheaters in the game. If you then make the houses purely in game gold only, the cheaters will get access to the biggest houses without any effort while the endgamers have had to graft for months./years to get the same level.

I bust my backside off crafting and selling on guild stores and im struggling to get past 100K gold as I end up having to buy high level mats as my character level isn't as progressed as my craft level (but that's my fault)

But it then comes down to stopping cheaters, not limiting the genuine players.

Cheaters will stay rich, that has nothing to do with housing! But you can get rich even without cheating, so your argument is completely invalid!!


It is the best thing they could do to make housing with in-game gold, instead of real cash. They screwed up the barbershop like this, so this time it is a great move from ZOS!!

Wow. I have to voice my great disagreement with the original post.

I welcome all legitimate methods for obtaining player housing. Whether it be through in-game gold, questing, dungeons, crown store, etc., if it's legitimate, then the method should be allowed.

As people, we have got to stop punishing the overwhelming majority who are decent/good for the actions of a very few who are cheaters/evil. Real life or in a game, the principle applies to both.

I personally have amassed a fair fortune of gold through 100% legitimate means, and I would consider it a major game breaker if I could not simply purchase housing, improvements, and furnishings with any of my honest gold.

Just so you know. Any active player can make 500k a week just by doing motif dailies. Stop being lazy and go do something.

I have about 30,000 crowns and i think that is the most I have ever had at once!! (then again i only ever play pvp) However I can understand for people to ask for housing to be in game...however I would not be able to afford it. So I would buy housing with crowns. Also shouldn't everyone be able to buy housing? even new players who have no gold yet..

Ban those that are cheating it doesn't just affect housing if they are allowed to remain. Let the honest people buy their stuff with their gold.

So you prefer to spend your hardly earned money to buy a digital house than to do some PvE, writs, sell stuff and collect enough gold to buy a house after a week for FREE? ZOS's bank account loves the people like you...

And could you explain why everyone should be able to buy a house at any stage of the game, i.e. even new players who have no gold yet. I remember the days when you had to save your gold to buy a first horse, the cheapest one, and nobody complained back then... good'ol times without a crown store.
