PvP style PvE content suggestion...

Had this discussion with a few people now - and everyone agrees it would be fun...

For those that want Vigor etc but hate PvP... we've catered for PvPers (with the inclusion of the Golden vendor) who don't like to do PvE content - how about some vice versa love?

So... what about a Cyrodiil map, or style of map, that is purely PvE. Siege castles in a 12-24 man group (like trials etc). But compete purely against NPCs. You could include Imperial forces, barbarians etc. Something for people to really get their teeth into - providing totally brand new content, but based upon older stuff.

I know you could go into PvP campaigns like Azura's Star and do this - since the map is so empty, but the NPCs just don't offer enough resistance or challenge (nor do they give AP for killing them).

Lots of players enjoy the whole "war" concept - but the PvP content can be incredibly daunting for newer players, and ones that just don't enjoy getting killed repeatedly by the same zerg...

Thoughts?

Wouldnt hurt but im suspicious that would add more load on ZOS servers and cause more lag having a crowd in a same instance casting *** left and right not a good idea lol.

They already made it easy, and fast, to level up to vigor. Doesn't take much effort or time. Leveling up alliance war lines should still take alliance war activity.

So we're just going to act like PvP'ers are the only ones being catered to?? In fact I'd say that the Cyrodiil vendor was more for PvE'ers since the monster sets originally didn't come in impen.

This would be a CHOICE ... like doing a dungeon, on a completely separate instance. It wouldn't even affect PVPers who still enjoy that aspect of the game.

I'd be just as happy to see open world PVP for anyone so choosing to do so... but in a completely separate instance.

I remember when AOC brought in a server that did just that, it set a record for fastest server death in MMO history as I understand it.

The vendor in Cyrodiil ONLY sells impen and infused... neither of which are really used by PvE players... I farm my helms and shoulders.

In your idea.. what happens when the map is completely taken? When you have captured every outpost, town & keep? Do they reset? I doubt the AI could take keeps back. That's kinda what makes the AvA gameplay so engaging... the constant back & forth flow... that feeling of "damn it! we just drove those yellows out of BRK now they are back touching our stuff!!@#".

As someone who has played late at night when the population is low... taking keeps from the NPCs is pretty dull & can be done by a single player if he has the patience & siege equipment. A group of 24 could faceroll all the keeps very quickly if there were no players on defence.

I have zero problems with a PVE instance of Cyrodiil as I think the whole PVE vs PVP argument is silly. However, I'd still play in the PVP instance... even if just exploring & getting skyshards.. because the fear of the unpredictable attack is the spice that makes it awesome :D

Much of the difficulty/challenge that NPCs could provide is pretty much impossible - real PvP is dynamic while NPC guards are pretty much static / scripted to behave in certain ways. Sure they could buff the guards but that doesn't really change any strat at all. Fights would also only be centered around various keeps rather than a dynamic front-line including the towns, milegates, Alessia bridge, and open-field. NPCs doing anything sensible with group-like synergies, pushing an objective together, etc, would also be quite difficult to do in such a way that isn't easily cheesed. Eg, having a few people disappear off to an outpost or other resources or even an inner keep wall to flag it while the main army targets something else in a way that is remotely sensible rather than a result of rand().

IMO I still feel people would be better off in BWB or Azura / No-CP campaigns to get the feel of PvP.

Honestly wouldn't be too much of a bad idea. This way, less zergs lagging the map

Khajiit thinks that the idea has merit, but make it a number of instanced trials. Like a town in Cyrodiil where there is a LARGE Legion Zero occupation, or a 7th Legion occupation. Where you have to fight to take an objective before being able to go to the next one. Then make each one harder than previous.

Not just waves of adds or flags to take but a bit of creativity to allow a new type of PvE environment in the game.

    This one can dream.

How about high ranked pvp players take over dungeon and trial bosses. You get dynamic bosses. We get to kill carebears.
Here $15, goat mount please. Not gambling or paying 45 : lol :
20% base speed for high ping players.
Streak moves you faster then speed cap.
They should of made 4v4v4v4 instead of 8v8.
