Question about Crafting Writs …Why…

Now that you can virtually explore the game in any order you want does it make any scene that crafting writs turn-in’s have fixxed skill level based turn in locations?

As an example my provisioning and enchanting are lower than my Blacksmithing and Woodworking, and I’m currently working on adventuring quest chains in Greenshade. Now I can pick up all my Writs in Greenshade but I have to travel back to Grahtwood to hand in Blacksmithing and Woodworking and then travel again back to Auridon to hand in the provisioning and enchanting

…WHY

This seem kind of dumb …why not just hand it the Writs in the same area you picked them up in and be reworded based on the Skill level of crafting skill.

I never understood why they did this to begin with. I actually reported it as a bug the first time I picked up a full set of writs in Auridon, completed them in Auridon and dropped off most of them in Auridon, then had to travel to Eldenroot to drop off the last two. When it happened the next day I started asking around and found out that it's based on your skill level but that never made sense to me.

Since you can pick up writs of any level in any town I think you should be able to drop them off in any town as well. If that's not possible for some reason then the drop-off point should be in the same town as you received the writ.

I can't believe it's been this way so long ... this is just annoying FTLOG ...I'm going to need to go to 3 zones now just to pick up writ rewards … this is just a quality of life issue that seems simple enough to solve.

My guess is it would take a lot of rewritten code to make it so the writs and loot would be skill based instead of zone based.

Ya but they just de-zone locked the entire game .... compared to that this would be a drop in the bucket ....LOL

I hate that we now get shipments of junk materials in rewards.

Agreed @Lord_Wrath..... 8 of my characters are maxed out in crafting and now not only do I have to go to Craglorn to do the writs and wait for each character to log out in 10 seconds, wasting valuable playtime, I am crafting cp150 stuff using a ton of ancestor silk, ruby ash, rubedite, and rubedo leather to complete the writs, but now you give me shipments with junk materials that do not nearly compensate me for the mats I used to complete the writs. Also all the "lower tier" mats you give me are all "refined" leaving no chance to refine them myself to get tempers and such out of them.

Oh and don't even get me started on the random zone surveys....I have my 9th character at say 9/10 passive to do those writs in Craglorn to get the surveys "IN CRAGLORN" for the chance to get nirncrux and yet all his surveys take me to off the wall zones? Are you freakin kidding me?

@ZOS_GinaBruno, @ZOS_RichLambert, @ZOS_JessicaFolsom what were you guys thinking???

No more crafting writs for me except Provisoning, Alchemy, and Enchanting!!

I honestly thought they were bugged so I stopped doing them until I read this. The rewards were like "a box of iron". Soooo many mats devoted to getting 25 iron ingots... horrific.

Exactly. These are just more inconvenient to do. I heard theres a higher chance for tempers to drop, but that can literally mean nothing.

For a while there, we could pick up writs and drop them off anywhere. I had a DC character doing Writs in Malabal Tor as a Silver zone, picking them up and dropping them off in main city. I don't think the code is anything special.

Although, Lore wise, we should be dropping off the writs in our Alliance. But the whole Alliance thing kind of got thrown out the window, as far as PvE is concerned.

    @EvilCroc

All my top end writs are delivered to Belkarth now. I am not even sure how I could get it so I could deliver to Orsinium. I think they changed this as the console folks, in particular the Xbox1 folks, have some real issues with Wrothgar.

Most writs are no longer worth doing. Zos broke it big time. I had to craft with Rubidite, ancient and Rubedo an d received cotton, Hickory and quicksilver. Matts I have zero use for and are worth nothing.

    @ZOS_GinaBruno @ZOS_JessicaFolsom

This needs to be fixed fast. Max level crafting needs to be changed back to a Wrothgar turn in and changed so we get something useful instead of trash matts. Please.

Completely agree. I have two characters that I left at 9/10 crafting for that same reason, parked in Belkarth. Now I'm getting trash mats and surveys in any zone BUT Craglorn, and thus far no more tempers than I ever have gotten. This was a terrible change and I'm very disappointed.

I'd like to know why my maxed leveled writs reverted back to Craglorn for hand in. Agree too. About time writs can be handed in, in any zone's main city/town.

This makes sense BUT going further

Why aren't writs something a real player requests for COD?
That feature vs what writs are would actually offset pops complaints about trading to some extent.

Let players choose to make something for a real player or make a random item for an NPC

Nah, they just enjoy breaking our balls any way they can. If something feels like the reward warrants the effort, they soon find a way to punt that into the sidelines.

ya it is so foolish, they should have kept the tiers the way they were and just made the pick ups and drop offs anywhere if that was the case but what they ended up doing is now made it a ridiculous gamble, not knowing if your even gonna get the same type of mat you put into writ let alone the amount of it. I dont know who or What is giving them idea's but it is frustrating to see this to say the least. Pls @ZOS_GinaBruno @ZOS_JessicaFolsom @ZOS_RichLambert look into this because slowly but surely people will stop writs after seeing what there getting for there time and Mats that they put into them.

Well yes we could let you hand in writs in orsinium, one of the most gorgeous cities in Tamriel but we thought it would be better to do it in a toilet like belkarth and then give you a bunch of refined low level junk!

I like the idea of going all over tamriel to get the surveys, gives me a reason to go and forrage in other zones

I think I see the thinking behind the low level stuff, max level crafters wanting to get lower lever stuff for alts and other players but it's a nonsense, my lower levels are perfectly capable of farming the mats and dumping them in the bank for the big crafter to use. Total waste of time, why not just up the survey drops by a few percent?

No game mechanic should be based around alts. It should be entirely tailored around the character which turns the writ in. Not everyone will have an alt either. I know i don't and don't ever want an alt. One run through of this game and its inane lazy assed npc based quests is enough for many people.

Just did the writ's in Orsinium all 6, now 2 run at lvl 7 rewards, the rest where lvl 10 got 1 kuta, and armour wep crafts gave 1 of legendary in 2 of them
ok 25 iron not a lot of use to me, nor 25 cotton as I already can find it with ease

oh well kick the crafters in the .... with a mix of useable and cr*p
    more on the junk side
but I do like you can now stack survey maps least that helps

and yep had to walk/ ride to Craglorn even though i'd been there a lot before and found all the wayshrines and done a fair few of the quest's....
certain game mechanics are all over the place currently :(
